Never really taken serious but we want to be good at basketball ?
Maybe one day we will get consistently better like a mid tier team.

but I'm just answering the OP's question, and I don't think historically we are as good at basketball as Duke is at football.

Duke actually played for an ACC football title the past decade. We haven't played in a ACCT final in basketball since the Purnell days. Heck, we've only made the semifinal round once since OP.

We have an all time winning record in basketball of 1361-1330-1.
Duke has an all time losing record in football of 521-547-31.
Thus we are better at basketball than Duke is at football.

I was thinking we’re the 2022 Syracuse of football on the basketball court. Started 6-0, then went 1-6 the remainder of the season.
Let’s hope we finish stronger than that.
