Everyone here was saying the SEC is overrated. Now we get a chance to prove that by knocking out Tenn and Auburn. If the SEC is truly overrated why are we worrying about a team that finished 16-15 in conference play?

is that they don't actually seed teams beyond 16. They also still seem to place a significance on regional proximity like that still matters in 2023. Tulane is in the LSU regional because they are in the same state. If you seed 1-64 they go to Wake Forest. I think a big part of why we got Tenn is that they are only 3.5 to 4 hours away. It also doesn't help that we were only 1 of 8 possible sites to send them with 8 SEC hosts. I actually don't know if there's a hard rule in place but I'm assuming they won't put a 2 seed and a 1 seed from the same conference in the same regional.

seeding. They are supposed to put the better teams against the lower seeds. A #4 seed draw shouldn't be one of the 3 or 4 most difficult draws. If you don't care if there is any meaning to seeding then this thread isn't for you. That's all this is about.
