They're paying 3 other guys not to coach right now. I don't know that they can afford a big name guy at the moment.

I'd be more concerned about the Auburn Job opening up. If he doesn't retire here I think he goes to Auburn. He's more of a "fit" over there he obviously knows the state and the culture out there. He wouldn't fit at florida at all.

I keep seeing some people say this. Auburn people despise Dabo and everything about him. There is less than a 0% chance they would hire him.

Concerned about Dabo going somewhere else, is not in my mind!! Says us 60 million and Clemson is now a top 7 -10 job nationally. They pay 10-12 million a year, have top notch facilities, and tremendous support. If he left tomorrow, we would hire a new coach and be back in tbe playoffs within 2-3 seasons

Darn interesting scenario if any program within the SEC or B1G offered Dabo their HC job.
First off, it ain’t happening. Dabo’s brand has been deeply harmed. No other program is going to pay Dabo 8 figures / year.
Back to the scenario.
If Dabo took another job and left Clemson if his own accord, that is the best possible situation for Clemson. Dabo’s buyout would be voided and we’d save $60 Mn -and- not look like an ingrate program that sh-cans its best ever coach simply because of one catastrophic season (I.e., the 2025 season).
Would the prideful Dabo take the other program’s HC job (which would mean foregoing a sure $60 Mn payout) or would the practical Dabo choose to stay at Clemson and hear the boos from fans (and thus keep the $60 Mn)?
My bet would be that he’d stay and spend the next five years reminding us about the glory years between 2011 and 2020.

Are you joking? They are paying two coaches already and their new hire will be a third. A few years ago Dabo was not a risk but no one wants to take a chance on Dabo at this point.
