even though we lost, DJU is unrecognizable in that game. Except in OT. That's when I guarantee something got in his head.
However, when you see what Clemson did to ND later that year with TL, it should've dawned on us then that he wasn't all that.

This is extraordinary stupid analysis. After Uiagalelei has now faltered at three different schools, it's obvious not the coaches.
Regarding Klubnik, it's equally obvious that North Carolina had prepared for Uiagalelei, which Mack Brown confirmed.

Neither DJ or Cade took the time to think about it during those games. They just played. Later, they started over-thinking things, in my opinion.

It was roughly on average the same stats he had at Clemson during his last year here.

and you understand where most of their opinions originate.
First and foremost, most all are self-appointed gurus with hardly an original thought produced by anything but their unroyal posteriors. If one hits upon what appears to be a controversial idea, they all follow suit in the never-ending rush for audiences. Somehow, one of those nattering nimwits decided that it was all Clemson's fault that DJ never developed. Poor DJ then threw gas on the fire with his illbegotten similar thinking. The slobbering continued while he was at Oregon State, and then on to FSU. At one point tonight I thought the announcers were ready to rush the field and kiss his asss.
I repeat my long-held opinion that our recruitment of DJ was misguided at best, for we simply bought into all the west coast space cadet hype. DJ has talents but not at the P4 level. He played for a small, private college in the most populous state in the nation. He did win a championship but at a low tier level, which meant he would probably have fared much better in a lower FBS program.
I wish the young man well and hate things didn't work out for him at Clemson. Unfortunately, now he's in one he1l of a pickled mess at FSU, because that fanbase is going to start lighting bonfires.

I saw he was at like 250 this year which is at least 20lbs too heavy. He was never fleet afoot but adding twenty pounds of what is clearly not muscle makes him look like the slowest player on the field, which he may be, at least among anyone who ever touches the ball. He's been the same player for three years now so i have no idea why the FSU fans were beating their chests when they got him. They actually thought he'd be a running threat which really sums up how clueless they were about his game.

Dabo raved, almost to fault, about DJU's preparation and work ethic, but he was just never able to consistently carry that over to game days.

Because he has a number of positive, NFL caliber traits:
1) He is BIG at 6'4" 250 lbs. 2) He is strong and can throw a football 80 yards. 3). He played HS at a top level National Championship program 4) He is a really high character young man. A good kid. 5) He looks great in a football uniform
Then, there is reality:
1) He is big, slow footed and slow to make decisions 2). He is the finest Offensive Tackle playing QB in the country 3) He dresses like a South LA Gang Banger. Not a good look in the South for a leader 4) His passes have very little spin and usually fly with the nose down making reception difficult 5) The combination of high velocity and the knuckleball effect are a tough combination for receivers
Glad I am not a Scout because all these positive traits would be apparent in high school and most of the negatives would not show up until college. Also, it is like getting married. When you marry the person, you get the family also. HS Scouts could not have known how that thing would blow up. Sad, actually.
