Jenkins is a bit too small to be a outside CB

I expect him to man the NB position like he did in 2011 and stop any and all slot WR from killing s like they did last year. I expect breeland and Alexander to be the starters at CB soon enough

I just want the best 2 out there and I do like Breeland and from all accounts Alexander is a BOSS but don't forget about D-Rob I think he is going to have something to prove and thought the short time he had on the field he did a descent job. Now all 3 of them have to prove it but I think Mike Reed is just the guy to do it and I truly believe he doesn't want this season to be defined by his players in the defensive backfield as far as not going the Tigers way, so he is gonna coach these cats hard (pun intended) and put these guys in the best position possible to flourish. He definitely doesn't want anything to be his or his players fault so I applaud the hire and believe he is going to have these guys playing at an extremely high level. I am truly excited for this defense this year I think we are going to see the rebirth of C-Block....

jenkins will make noise somewhere, people forget he was

good two years ago. But I think he plays a lot at Nickel. I think Alexander slowly takes over at CB as season progresses opposite Breeland. Safeties are set, just need depth. Blanks and Smith aren't getting unseated (mark that down).

I like the combination of Alexander and Breeland being the starters at cornerback. I think Jenkins can be a great nickel back, but I still like Robinson. Robinson covers pretty good, but he has a tendency to become too physical which leads to penalties. I am hoping that Coach Reed can teach him better technique in pass coverage.

The less experience the better for Uga. Murray is a 5th yr senior you know. Doubtful Dabo would start a true freshman in the season's 1st game.

Dont talk big when your own secondary is in the shape its in

We already know it will probably be a high scoring game, with two of the nation's best QB's going at it. I still take Clemson's defense over UGA's though. Also, if you have read anything about MacKensie recently, you'd know he's turning heads left and right in summer workouts. We'll start our best two; don't you worry. I'll look for you on here after Alexander houses one against Murray.

Be a good dog now, and stop drinking out of the toilet

Yeah, they turn heads, and at Clemson they deliver on the field too. You may remember a guy named Sammy Watkins; he had a pretty good true freshman year. And Alexander won't have any RBs to worry about, as Beasley and the rest of the front seven will have planted him in the ground behind the line of scrimmage.

So you think your defensive front 7 is as good as Alabama's defensive front 7? In my opinion I don't think so, Alabama had one of the best defensive fronts last year and he still got 122 yards. Gurley will definitely get more than that against your defense! And that is not a dig at your defense and l'm not saying that Clemson can't win, just saying that Clemson's defense won't shut him down.

I don't think our front 7 was as good as LSU's was

last year either, but we managed to BEAT them. We didn't just come close to beating them or play a solid game. We won. It doesn't matter if you lost to Bama by 3 or 30, you lost. Both D secondaries will have a lot to prove come August 31st with both of us being young and you all having your best proven starter benched for the game.

Everything you said is true except for the part about our best db being benched.

Post-spring depth chart says
Jul 25, 2013, 9:50 AM
|

Darius Robinson at one spot and Garry Peters OR Breeland at the other.
I'm pulling for them too, and we'll be fine at corner. We're not quite as thin with returners as people think, and some of our freshmen will be studs and rightfully earn some playing time.

Not talking about Clemson winning
Jul 25, 2013, 8:04 PM

Nobody has still not answered my question. I didn't say anything about Clemson winning, homeslice said that Clemson's front 7 would stop Gurley in the back field and plant him in the ground. I'm not saying that Clemson can't stop him sometimes, what I am saying is that Gurley will still get more yards against Clemson's defense than he did against Alabama.
