Maybe he should just show up and see what happens.

If they didn't fire him...and he just quit showing up for work...I'd say that could open the door for termination - with cause.

If you don't show up for work 3 days in a row. Without approved leave, it's considered a resignation.

It would be like a no call/no show. A place I worked at in the past, if you did three days of no call/no show, then you got terminated with the reason being job abandonment. You would also be ineligible for unemployment benefits afterward.
In the case of the coach, if he stopped showing up to work, assuming he impulsively decided to quit on the spot without notice, then he would have breached the contract on his side and probably would owe the university some amount of money.

They just need to "fix the glitch" like the two Bobs did. Problem solved.

LSU didn't fire him = Kirby didn't call a timeout.

I'm curious about the term length for the original $53M payout. Over how many years was it to be paid?
I understand they'd offer a lower amount as a lump-sum payout, but it seems they're low-balling.
Imagine making Brian Kelly appear sympathetic.
Either way, he can go hang out in South Beach with Coach O. I sat 1 table over from Orgeron at Prime Italian a couple years ago.

Imagine that, a poorly worded tweet on X. They didn't fire him for cause but now claim they could have. Believe me, he was fired.
