in the 3 years of the current format, Zeke Elliot scored 4 touchdowns in the OSU/Oregon match up
Renfrow has scored 4 in two games. Derrick Henry scored 3 in last year's matchup. OJ Howard has scored 3 in two years. Bo Scarborough has scored 2 as did Gallman for Clemson. There are 10 other players from the 3 competing teams who have each scored once- Lowe and Marshall from Oregon, Varnett and Jones from OSU, Drake and Hurts from Alabama, Watson, Scott, Legett and Williams from Clemson.
I did not look at anything other than the last 3 years of the current playoff scenario.

thanks for the specific data! As far as big picture, I'm sure there are too many wr's that played in multiple national championship games to count going as far back as the record books take us, but I would assume Hunter is at least on the path, God willing, that he could set some all time record for TD receptions in a National Championship (and I know the old, OLD format didn't deem games officially the national championship game but rather the AP vote afterwards, but its fairly clear which Orange Bowls, Rose Bowls, etc had a national championship on the line) anyway its such a cool stat and fun topic about a great young Clemson man I had to delve into it! Thanks for the responses!

We'll sit around one day telling our grandchildren about the legend Hunter Winfrow.. His story is the epitome of what being a Tiger is all about.
