playing favorites ..mafah is great but it would be nice to get a little speedier back in to see what he can do on some of these swing passes and screens

There has never been nothing great about Mafah. He’s average P5 running back at best.

Thought this year they would scheme some outside runs or isolations against LBs for wheel routes for Haynes. Adams ran well at Wake so looks he would be in position to spell what appears to be a banged up Mafah for power runs.

Delayed counters though… might help to do some normal run plays.

He looks so slow and not willing to make extra effort.

Mafah. 17 carries -- 17 yards

1 carry for 6 yards. So 16 more carries for 11 yards.
SMU RB Brashard Smith ran for 161 yards vs. Pitt on 23 carries. 2 TD's.
Something is wrong. Mafah's never been a speedster and now he's hurt. The o-line's not helping. Mafah, playing in whatever condition he is in, is harming his future NFL opportunities.
It's time for #26 Jay Haynes or one of the other young redshirts to take some reps and take the load off Mafah.

We had been running a few more guys but today Mafah is not 100% and no one else ever came in.
Not to mention running with a makeshift OL. Curious as to what coach says about not running anyone else.
