I'm starting to think they may be splitting because none of these sound like great fits for DJ. I still think UCLA would work best for him.

One that fits for younger brother prob doesn’t for DJ. He (DJ) isn’t gonna start at USC, Oregon, or OSU next year ?

Matayo is a fit pretty much anywhere he goes. And he can push at DE or TE. DJ will benefit from being selective. I think the family is happy to just have both of them closer to home. I think DJ goes to UCLA and Matayo goes to USC.

I've heard that Ryan Day thinks he can "salvage" DJ......apparently he's a pretty good QB coach.
Can't stand Day, but it is interesting as a possibility. Whatever happens, wish DJ the best.

Yeah, Day irritates me endlessly but he’s a good coach and is known for getting the best out his QBs. Then again so was Jimbo.

Stroud didn’t look so good against Meat Chicken and I think Day may be slightly overrated

Maybe, maybe not. Day wants a QB more like Justin Fields that can run. Stroud will not run the ball, DJ will. Thought is that Day can fix DJ's footwork issues - we'll see. It will be interesting.

If they are a package deal then I'd bet on Oregon as I don't

think their QB bench is that deep and DJ could probably get the starting job there. If it is an individual Matayo deal then probably the real USC. Either way I wouldn't think either of them ends up at Oh Cry Oh State.

if they are going to play together and DJ plays next year that is the logical spot. But then again logic is not always a factor in these decisions.

DJ most definitely is not going to...

USC because Caleb Williams is returning.
He's not going to Ohio State because he has zero chance of beating out Kyle McCord as the starter.
The problem with UO is Bo Nix has not made a decision yet. If he returns, obviously DJ could not start. They also have Dante Moore coming in 2023.
IMO, there is a 99% chance DJ and Matayo do NOT go to the same school because DJ would be crazy to choose any of those 3.
DJ will transfer somewhere he is promised to be the starter (heh, at least at the beginning of the season). Chip Kelly might offer him that at UCLA assuming DTR declares for the draft.
