You are just going to have to learn to deal with that fact that Clemson's and UNC's basketball programs will be forever linked because the breaking of the streak in Chapel Hill caused the entire world to fall into a tailspin.

titles weren't vacated because you used academically ineligible players for decades...You certainly haven't been able to explain how titles are still valid when everybody, except you, know they were won with players who couldn't have remained academically eligible if there wasn't rampant cheating...on a systemic level

see, there's your specious opinions.. and then there is the truth
just because you wanted them to be ineligible so bad you just can't stand it, doesn't make it true... and it still makes me laugh that it bothers you and your ilk so much
remind me, how many players were ruled ineligible?
sad to see someone who won't accept facts.. but it's a very common problem these days (especially on the anniversary of 1/6/21)

posts.
I thought you were saying that the elimination of a complete systemic corruption of college athletics had resulted in a decline in the overall quality of UNC athletics. But apparently you are saying that the elimination of a complete systemic corruption of college athletics has not significantly declined the quality of UNC athletics. One wonders then why your school would go through the effort of such a pathetic, corrupt, multi-decade program to maintain athlete's eligibility? Hardly seems worth the effort now, wouldn't you say? Perhaps if your school hadn't had a corrupt system in place for multiple decades, the rest of the country might consider the multiple ACC and NCAA championships you got while cheating as legitimate? Oh well. I guess we'll never know.
Not for nothing, but I did a quick check of UNC's performance this year... Men's Soccer - from 3 last year to outside the top 25 this year Women's Soccer - from 3 last year to 14 this year Football - 17 last year, not even receiving votes this year Men's Basketball - 33 last year, not even receiving votes currently Fencing - from 6 last year to 13 currently (but hey, there are 27 teams, so that's like being about 150th in basketball...still, gotta get those Direct's Cup points for Message Board bragging rights!) Field Hockey - 1 last year, 10 this year (again, only 77 programs) Women's swimming - 12 last year, 22 currently this year Men's swimming - 24 last year, not even receiving votes currently
I don't like these trends. Tell those athletes to put those silly books down and get back to practice.
Women's basketball is a bright spot...ranked at 33 last year and currently at 18. Maybe you can be like the other Carolina, a women's basketball school?

but glad you spent so much time exploring UNC sports
you do know the paper class scheme ended in 2010, right?
here is a fun fact for you
"Since 1977, every four-year student that has attended North Carolina has seen the Tar Heels win at least one national championship"
another fun fact, four spring sports teams went to NCAA Final Fours in 2021.. (but only 1 national championship)
but hey, why should the facts affect what you think?

So, to your point, since UNC claims to have started asking Athletes to actually be students starting in 2010 (and really, pat on the back for you there...such integrity after you get caught), you have maintained a quality program. Which makes it more of a shame that every championship since the early 90s is tarnished. But hey, you make your choices in life, amirite?
My comment about this year vs last year is just that - a decline year-over-year. Better put those books down and get focused.

UNC is top 5 in the nation regularly in both men’s Nd women’s tennis. I’m not one to defend UNC but little disingenuous to ignore an entire sport.

still waiting for some proof of ineligibility
you're like a delusional supporter of 'the former guy' (and would not surprise me if you are "> ) just keep repeating something long enough and often enough and you just know it has to be true, no matter what the facts are
yet again, just because you think the players should have been ineligible, doesn't mean they were
until you disabuse yourself of your specious ideas, you will continue to be frustrated..(and continue to be mildly amusing)
no matter what you want, no matter what you believe, no matter how much you hate... there are still 6 NCAA championship banners hanging in the Smith Center.. and it does tickle me to think how much that bothers you
have a great weekend!

specious assumptions just flow through your fingertips don't they?
you assume that just because an athlete took one of the 'paper classes' they automatically became ineligible.
but that is simply not the case - your opinion is meaningless (and laughable)
but the fact is that none of the players were found by any entity to be ineligible..
no matter how bad you want that to be true
ever thought that maybe you just need to get over it?
happy Monday!

The Tarheels excel in Hockey and Lacrosse probably without cheating much. That gets them enough points to rate in these multi sport ratings. Like they did in the Carmichael Cup like the Other Carolina rides Women's BB and blood donations in the Palmetto Cup.

Dean Smith was a fraud in recruiting. NC bought a lot of BB titles back in the day. You will have to use NIL to keep up now. How in the world could you lose to the coots in such a dominating fashion with your great Sam Howell. You almost killed him this year making a running back out of him.
