when he said Clauson thanked him for the beat down last year?
I know I would be playing that one up if I were Clauson.
In the end it won't matter, but it'll make them play harder at first.

Clauson could have played that card, but his defense of Dabo saying that he appreciated that Dabo didn't run up the score cost him his chance at bulletin board material.
Clauson said that his players quit.
That is likely what he is using to get their attention, but apparently he started using that for the rest of the season last year. It is not something that he has been saving for this game.

I really dont think it matters... now if they didnt have so many injured players, they could have gives us some problems but they have a lot of key guys out.
I wish they were healthy and they had won last week. Would have been #3 vs #17 or so... would have been a decent game.

Regardless of their ranking, their team would not be more challenging.
A few injuries does not create a 30 point spread from what would have been a competitive game.
If our team is prepared to play, Wake can't compete with us as a healthy team.

Last year was 63-3. This year more like 51-14.

That's possible.
I don't think 63-3 was a true reflection of the gap between the teams.
However, if we were ranked #3 and they were ranked as well, it would still not be an accurate reflection of the gap between the teams.

63-3 was a reflection of the effect of "a few injuries."
Our RBs broke TD runs of 59, 70, 65, 64 and 52 yards. We averaged 11 Yards per Rush, more than our 9 Yards per Completion.
Clawson said after the game that they finished the game with their 5th and 6th safetys on the field, underestimating our RBs' speed and taking bad angles.
Clawson usually has his backups prepared well, but programs like Wake have a huge dropoff between first and third strings.
