I knew they copied a lot of what Clemson did but I did

Jan 18, 2013, 3:04 PM

not know that they use the "Tiger Paw" also. Those bass tards have one painted at Toomers Corner just like we have by Sikes. Go Tigers - the real ones.

Actually, it is us that also copied them. Tilghman(sp) Hall is almost a replica of one of their buildings. Some administrator left Auburn and came to Clemson and brought the building plans with him. The tiger paw was ours though.

or something like that...

Jan 18, 2013, 5:12 PM

'flattery,' and flattery works better in this case. AU has no reason to envy Clemson except for the last two years. Don't count AU out. They'll be back on top of their conference in a couple to four years.

No, the paw is a Clemson original.

no, the paw is a registered trademark.

Jan 19, 2013, 5:02 AM [ in reply to Did Auburn really do the paw thing first??*** ]

it was developed by the henderson advertising agency sometime in the early '70's. it is ours!

Football and the mascot neame, Tigers

Jan 19, 2013, 5:22 AM

Walter Riggs was an Auburn Grad and football player. He brought football to Clemson and the name Tigers. He also hired Heisman.

Fakers and copycats are always confused

Jan 18, 2013, 8:02 PM

Let's see, is it a Tiger, a "War Eagle", or what? If it's a Tiger paw for an emblem, then why isn't it on the helmet or main street? With Clemson, you know what it's about.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're probably too young but they use to be called

Jan 18, 2013, 8:06 PM

"Plainsmen" also. Real identity problem, IMO.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't they have a Plainsmen field or something?***
