Did anyone else see Nnoko

Feb 5, 2014, 9:42 AM

last night. I don't know if it was Brownell's scheme or not, but everytime Tech ran the same play to free up Miller low. And everytime they created a mismatch or he was wide open. Nnoko would switch to guard the ball handler out high after a pick was set by Miller. Millere would run free down to the baseline and he was too much for our guards to handle that deep.

It was either Nnoko following the ball like a ditz and getting out of position or Brownell not having told him to stay with the big down low.

Am I wrong or did I miss something?

That scenario against Cuse with their size is gonna break our backs

I saw Gt score 41 points, so whatever they were doing must have not have been working all that well.

Overall defense was good

but that one play that Tech kept going to allowed for Miller to have a career game. It was just disturbing that we never really adjusted to take that away.

I'm really proud of them slugging out a W.

I feel like we make the big tourney this year. I love this team.. they are gritty

I saw that A COUPLE OF TIMES, but all in all we played them pretty well on D.

We will need to at least Win 5 of our 9 remaining league games to make the dance IMHO, it will be tight.

As it stands we will finish no worse than 15-15, so he NIT is a very real possibility this year.

lol defense holds them to 41 and you make this post....

In fairness, it was not entirely the defense....

GT shot the bal lalmost as poorly as Clemson did. GT had plenty of open looks but couldn't hit the ground with their hat for much of the night.

I saw Nnoko going to the hoop when he got it and getting some fouls on Miller and helping set a tone he must be guarded

I did not see that particular play in this game but I have seen it in others. I believe it was his attempt to hedge off of the screens but i believe he did a bad job putting pressure on the ball handler once he hedged. Nevertheless we won the game, and it can be corrected. And who cares about that lol. Anyone see that block he made at the end of the game???? That was huge. Very excited for this team. Very scrappy.

I saw this. Nnoko isn't actually switching he's hedging. Hedging is when you momentarily switch with the guard so the guy coming off the screen doesn't get a free lane to drive down. Nnoko does a great job of pushing the guards back towards half court. That center just had a good jump shot from that spot and you could tell they worked on it.

Ya think the "getting off the bus and dressing out" scenario is probably going to break our backs at Syracuse. That is a pretty tall order. I think that is fine though. Would love to show better than at Pitt.

his post play. Holy smokes. We finally got him the ball in great positions and he did not do great at taking advantage of it. He needs to relax, establish position, and maybe throw in a pump fake every once in awhile. He catches the ball and usually immediately tries to go up. That goes for Djitte as well.

We need to develop a few post moves, but I was glad to see us getting the ball down low and taking it at them. And Nnoko has improved tremendously since last year. I expect him to keep getting better
