and beat the Coots but some of you would still complain. It obviously sucks to lose to them but the fact is we're 10-2, headed to the Orange Bowl. We've won 10 games 3....3 consecutive years. During the TB era, some of you would have given a kidney for a 10 win season. The coaches/players/staff all understand the importance of beating the Coots but some of you need to enjoy the success we're having and quit whining.

A lady at work told me she needed a kidney transplant and had no immediate chance for a donor. Being O+ blood type, I decided to get checked to see if I was a match for her. As luck would have it, I was a match so on April 13, 2012 the transplant took place. They took the kidney out through my navel and the only evidence of a scar is a freckle above my navel. I was only in the hospital over night (operation on Friday, released Saturday at noon), but the doctor gave me a month off from work because he said I need to rest even if I felt good. My co-worker was back at work in 8 weeks and it's like I gained a whole additional family.

Thank you. Now I have to actually like someone with a 100% tiger pulse. But I suppose I can adjust Seriously, that is very nice and I appreciate it. Everytime I listen to him ##### about something stupid the Coots did in some sporting event, I just smile. It is good to be able to hear him whine about it, you know?

I went to Hawaii for my daughter's wedding 6 weeks after the transplant. The recipient, Margaret, said her kidney (that she named Allie because my name is Allan) was jealous that my kidney was in Hawaii and her kidney wasn't.

Just facts
During Tommy B years
Miami won national champ and were good
FSU was much better year in year out
Miami and FSU in ACC would have kept Clemson out of BCS game
The ACC is worse today than at anytime during Tommy Bs coaching tenure (just look at ranked teams)
Fact Clemson and Dabo have recruited better, win on the weaker ACC level yet there are mixed emotions on the big stage games
Who knows how Tommy would do in today's ACC but we do know since being added to the ACC FSU, Miami, BC, Va Tech have all gone down hill and are fighting back to find relevance

Great but putting it in perspective, the acc is considerably weaker. BC, Vt and gt were all stronger at the same time 5 to seven yrs ago as was WF. This may have something to do with why we are double digit favs in so many games that we cover in. Great stat but to take the next step our program needs to play much better in big games. We had a nice two gAme streak only to now have a bad two game streak and the overall is not good at all. Sadly, five of these big games are against the coots

And Florida, Tennessee, and arguably Georgia have fallen on hard times and yet you chickens can only manage 1 division championship and a blowout in the conference championship game. Paaaaaathetic.

Saying the ACC is the weakest its ever been, I'm pretty sure the argument that the sec east is the worst its ever been could be made also. Where is the Florida, Tenn, Georgia teams of old. I'm sure those teams being down has no bearing whatsoever on SC being up.

Well, UGA has been in the top 10 each year for the past 3 until this year and were 12 yards from being national champs last year so they haven't really gone anywhere. And UF and UT are down, but are you sure it isn't because us and Mizzou are up? I mean, we are both ranked in the top 10. We are 1 of only 4 teams in the BCS to have 10+ wins for 4 seasons in a row. It isn't like UF and UT has fallen behind some weak team that only lives off their weak conference to get wins.

Ease up a bit on the magical 10 win threshold
Dec 10, 2013, 9:26 AM
|
|
we only recently started playing 12 regular season games. We used to play 1 hard, 1 easy and South Carolina. Now we play 1 hard, 2 easys and South Carolina. He's getting a free win every year (granted SC has gone from an easy win to a legit team)
Dabo's winning percentage ranking for those 3 years are 2012 - 10th 2013 - tied for 11th with 5 other seasons (if we win the OB it will be tied for 10th, if we lose it will be 21st) 2011 - tied for 33rd.
Obviously having 3 seasons in the top 30ish in Clemson history is not something to dismiss. But lets not pretend he's taken us to heights we've never been. Howard has 6 seasons in the top 30 by winning percentage Ford has 7, and even Hatfield has 3. 19 of the top 30 years comes from 4 coaches and Dabo is in that list (some of the others that are in the top 30 only played 4 and 5 game seasons). So Swinney is in position to be up there with some of the big names in Clemson history.
But 10 wins doesn't automatically separate the wheat from the chaff. Its like when just getting to a bowl became diminished.
