Scariest part was that he wasn't the best player on his HS team - Virginia DB Darius Jennings probably was.

While he is really really good. I just don't see the effort for extra yards in him that I see in Gallman. Is DH good because of DH or because of the Bama 0-Line? Now THAT is the question.

Lawson, Reader, Wilkins, Dodd, Bryant, Pagano, and Yeargin got that covered.
Now if we can only stop the pass. Oh yeah that's right, we got the best secondary in the country.
But no, Henry isn't over rated. He's good. But this is the best defense he will run against this season.

7Spots Clemson WILL NOT be the best defense Henry has ran against all year. Wisconsin, Michigan State, Arkansas, and LSU's run defenses are all ranked higher than Clemson. Just sayin'.

As far as rush defense goes, our numbers are skewed because we were gashed in a couple games at the end of the year because we were tired. You will be seeing a completely different defense.
Derrick Henry is most definitely one of the most overrated backs in college football. I said earlier in the year (ole miss game) that he looks slow and doesn't break as many tackles as he should. He will join the long list of Alabama backs that go to the nfl only to find it that they are not that good.

Anybody that thinks Henry is overrated just hasn't been paying attention. He is absolutely one of the best running backs in the country, and he gets stronger as the game goes on.
Watch the last TD Alabama scored against MSU. It was a handoff to Henry that was defended perfectly, but Henry bounced it outside, where he stiff armed one of the country's best defensive ends that is projected a first round draft pick. He shoved him to the ground like he was a third grader. Then he turned the corner with his surprising speed and scored. That is when I really appreciated how good Henry is. He will be a handful. But so was cook, perine, hood, wilds, and many other rbs that Clemson shutdown. I don't think it will be any different with Henry.

I won't go so far as to call him overrated, he is great at what he does. But both Ole Miss and MSU proved one thing to be true - he isn't invincible. His legs, though strong as hell, are six feet long. We learned in pee-wee football to go low on guys like that... Why his opposition still insists on hitting him in the chest or arm-tackle him is baffling to me. Hit him below the knee, before he's allowed his full momentum in open field and he topples over just like Brandon Jacobs used to. With a big guy like that, you absolutely must contain him and take away his opportunities to cut back inside, which he loves to do. He averaged 2.2 ypc against ole miss and amassed just 70 or so yards last weekend because of that. Watch the hips, contain and hit him below the thighs. He's a powerhouse that can go all night long but he's far from being the superhero everyone makes him out to be.

So you are a player on CLEMSON defense? I think Henry will get the same treatment of the other great backs CLEMSON has played. Lot of carries for less than 70 yds.

You kidding me?? I suggest you go look at Stanford's schedule and look at the rush defense rankings of their opponents. Northwestern was the toughest they faced and they held him to 66 yards rushing. It's pretty #### pitiful.
