on their team than we do. Not that fans impact the game, but I think it's a huge mistake to think this game is going to be a breeze. They will challenge us in the trenches for sure. Dobbins is a great back and Fields is an outstanding QB. Converse to your notion yesterday, OSU has elite athletes and far better team speed than Wake Forest. That was a head scratcher for sure. Let's say the 3 best teams we've played have been UVA, Wake, and Texas A&M. OSU has more talent than the 3 of those teams combined. Thinking OSU is just a bunch a big, slow guys is incredibly off base. These guys are, again, by far the best team we will have played. They will challenge us at every single position. If the game was based on overall team talent, then OSU rayes higher than us. Fortunately we have some tremendous coaches who can gameplan and counteract as good as any staff in the country. If we win, that will be the difference. We're not going to push them around or simply run faster than them. It will take a tremendous gameplan and near flawless execution to beat them.

Please. You’re talking about the same guy that earlier this season was talking about how nasty Notre Dame & UGA were. This game won’t be close, bro.

In watching OSU all season, they’re not going to have the luxury of just being more talented against Clemson. If you’ve watched them, you should’ve noticed the deep balls from Fields aren’t great, nor is his ball security. Defensively, they’ve been able to stack the box because they don’t play against teams with formidable WB’s or WR’s, and they’ve still been challenged. Their scheme is very simplistic, and Fields is a one read QB. Their formula just isn’t going to beat Clemson. Period. 45-17 Tigers.

Not sold on OSU. They fell behind Wisconsin and looked confused and out of sync in first half. They won't survive the tigers with a performance like that . They are great but Tigers are greater.

Trouble. They are a second half team. I’m sure our coaches know this and will be ready to finish them in the 2nd half.

Remember what Oklahoma looked like in the first quarter against Bama last year ?
That would have been an amazing game if it wouldn’t have been so lopsided early.

There were no “adjustments”. Wisconsin was gassed on defense late in the game just like they were in their regular season game vs OSU, and their QB &WR’s weren’t good enough to sustain the lead. Again, luxuries they won’t have vs Clemson.

Well when you put that way, I say that it's a really good things that our fans have decided to let Dabo and our team to play this overwhelming talent that OSU is coming armed with. And I've got to say this, I'm sure as crap glad that OSU left all their 4 and 5 star talented guys home, and only brought their 2 star guys to play against us the last time we played them, or that score we won by could have been reversed if they would have played their 4 and 5 star guys against us!!! I don't expect they will leave their best players at home this time around since we took advantage of them when they took it easy on us the last time we met in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl, and we spanked the chit out of them 31-to a fat Goose Egg!!!

Re: So does FSU based on the past 4 years rankings

How’s that working out for them?
Exactly!
The flip side to getting high recruiting rankings is "you had better win"! OSU does win at a high rate and are a fantastic program.
Clemson has been beating teams with higher recruiting rankings pretty regularly! So, the whole, they will out athlete Clemson argument needs to be put to bed. It's not like we are ranked #35 or beyond in recruiting! We are right there - we also don't turn a kid who committed to us around at the last minute because someone else with a bigger star said yes! Other teams do and as a result - they may get better classes. But, all that don't mean anything if you don't put it all together and show it on the field.

I am going to assume that we measure talent by the number of stars these kids had coming out of HS. By that metric, OSU is, indeed, more talented, as were about ten other teams on average over the last four years. Bama has been more talented. UGa has been more talented. OSU and LSU have been more talented. We probably will be in for a fight, but I am optimistic based on history.

5 year composite recruiting classes for Clemson the last few years was outside the top 10!
15 - composite #13 16 - composite #12 17 - composite#13 18 - composite #11
Ohio State, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, whatever else blue blood - have had more talent over the last few years! But, are they putting it all together?

Well I can tell ya, some of our fans will be ready to throw the baby out with the dish water if OSU is ever ahead of us in the game. I don't know why but, some of our fans will go into total brain lock and forget that it's a 60 minute 4 quarter game after about the first 5-6 minutes into the game, and if some of us didn't know that there was another 3 full quarters of FB left to play, we to would swear we were about to lose the game when listening to how some will be reacting with time still left in the first quarter!!!

They look like a Tougher version of a Boston College type team but with real athletes and QB is lightning quick.
You have to spy him or he’s got a first down and then some easily.
They look lost on 3rd and Long but they don’t get in that situation too often.
Dobbins looks like a quicker AJ Dillon to me and their D is not spectacular but they are where they are supposed to be all the time so you have to make a contested play.
Could be a dog fight or get ugly. Who knows.

I've started a stats dive into O31-0 State like I did last year before we played Bama. No one that played O31-0 has come close to getting their passing yard average or rushing yard average against them with exception of Michigan passing (305 total yards passing which was 53 yards over their average).
Wisconsin in the B1GCG was close in rushing (200 total yards rushing which was 40 under their average and 232 yards passing which was 31 yards over their average). In the first game, Wisconsin only got 83 yards total yards rushing.
Other than that no one was even close. Their defense held the opponent under 100 yards rushing in 8 of their 13 games and under 150 yards passing in 8 of their 13 games.
O31-0 States scoring in the 2nd and 3rd QTRS is impressive and says they adjust after the game starts and again at the half.
Lastly, based on everything else I saw, stop the run and O31-0 can be stopped.

First and second down and forcing them into 3rd and longs. If we can do that, their tackles give up tons of sacks.

they have talent. The difference in this game? I think it is speed. I believe as a team, we are faster. OS is not the typical Big 10 slow team, not at all. But they are not like us, speed wise. I think it is the difference,.
