They are a better football team than Clemson. How?
Delaware beat Uconn. Uconn beat Duke. Duke beat Clemson by one point.

But here's were it gets funny.

Delaware beat Uconn, Uconn beat Duke. Duke beat Clemson, Clemson beat fsu, fsu beat Alabama.

So DELAWARE WOULD DEFINITELY BEAT ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!

For the transitive property lover in all of us - California (per correction below) is the current belt holder …. read on:

The College Football Belt is a fan-created championship system inspired by boxing's title belt concept. The first-ever college football game established an original champion, and that "belt" has been defended in every game since, changing hands when the current holder loses.

The belt holder defends their title in every game
Any team that defeats the belt holder becomes the new champion

Ahhh UD, the Fighting Joe Flaccos

Grew up in Wilmington watching some very fun Mike Brey coached basketball teams! Not a bad 1AA football program either, just never understood why they copied Michigan’s helmet design.

The similarity to the Michigan helmet dates back to David Nelson coming to Delaware in the 1950's. David Nelson was a Michigan guy so he adopted the look for Delaware
