Deer Tim Tebow.....Sorry

I, like everyone else thought the driving range photo of you was photoshoped. Apparently, you are a gym rat. No matter if you hate or love the guy, he has heart and gives 110% every play. He continues to be a winner wherever he goes and is a good role model for youngsters, in a time where those a few and far between.

I still think that the golf picture is photoshopped (not because of the size of his arms, but because they look like mickey mouse arms). Also, Tebow is a hard worker and the Broncos are winning....but I think it has more to do with the offense the Broncos are running than it does with some 'superstar' at quarterback (1 pass in the second quarter?).
And MARK MY WORDS, Tebow will be the next superstar to fall from grace. Something will come out from his days at Florida about how he isn't the perfect little angel he seems.

especially offenses, has gotten boring. While it is still interesting to see masters of their craft, like Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, why does every NFL OC want to copy the offenses they run? Sure, there are nuances to every OC's interpretation of the pocket passer O, but it's still boring.
Somebody joked about Denver hiring Paul Johnson. Eff yeah, that'd be cool (plus it'd get his crusty ol' butt outta the ACC) to see something different. Find something new, develop a spread offense for the NFL game. What if the Panthers incorporated a Malzahnian offense for Cam? Would it work? I dunno, but Cam sure as heck knows how to run it and it's reasonable to assume he could have some measure of success running it again.
So I'm all for it. Break the mold Tebow, give the NFL something to think about.

I'm a supporter. He is a man who stands up for what he believes in a world that has gone crazy with political correctness and he has no reservations about expressing those beliefs. Young people would be well served to use him as a roll model.

Some comments on here simply illustrate that to stand for the Lord, specifically Jesus Christ will bring on persecution. I suspect the folks in the Philippines who benefit from the hospital he is helping to build with his NFL bounty are really glad he strives to live his faith! Christ followers are not perfect and he has never claimed to be either. If he falls publicly, it simply would be another example of the Grace WE ALL NEED.
Tim - Keep the Faith!!! I'm hoping that he has a HOF career and is able to continue to lift up Christ by his successes and, yes, his failures!
Now, take it to San Diego next week!!!!
Go Tigers!!!!

Let's just get things straight here. People questioning your ability to succeed in the NFL is not persecution. Having people complain about your public, televised religious expression is not persecution. When you knowingly express opinions, your faith, whatever to the mass media as a public figure you are inviting both support and criticism. As a public figure Tebow benefits from these expressions as much as, if not more than, he is hurt by them.
Persecution would be if someone tried to prevent him from speaking, to prevent him from earning a living, or worse, based on his expressions of belief. As it stands now, Tebow makes a lot of money playing sports and will soon make a lot of money via endorsement deals, if he isn't already. He is also provided with a public mouthpiece to voice his opinions pretty much whenever he wants. This attention only serves to improve his future chances to (1) voice his opinions, (2) to make money playing football, (3) to make money based on his own celebrity, and (4) to continue to fund his charitable endeavors. If that's persecution, sign me up!
I'll add in that I have no beef with Tebow, his beliefs, his public statements, his charitable endeavors, or his ability to play football. I do find Tebow to be an example of a problem with the media, in that the media has a habit of fixating on certain players for various reasons, to the exclusion of other worthy players. This creates a kind of echo chamber whereby one person complains about Tebow, others respond, eventually Tebow comments. The net result is that Tebow's detractors grow more entrenched and his supporters do the same. If anything the complaints confirm his supporters' previously held beliefs that they are destined to be persecuted for their beliefs. Of course, as discussed above, this isn't persecution, it's just a harmless media circus that serves the interests of the media (viewers=profit) and the interests of the media personalities (attention=endorsements=profit).

withasigh, You make some valid points, but some of the comments have NOTHING to do with questioning his ability to play in the NFL, i.e. the Virgin comment.
Persecution has many degrees. i.e. the pastor in Iran who was jailed for being a Christ follower and may be dead now because he would not renounce Christ and accept the "Religion of Peace."
People can be persecuted with words. It just seems that outside of his football talent, there is an underlieing attitude by some to marginalize his faith and to act like he should not bring it up. Personally, I like this much better than so many of the egotistical athletes that always point to themselves. These should realize that without their GOD given talent, their professional sports career would be nill. It is what it is.

I certainly agree that a comment about whether someone is a virgin is in poor taste regardless of context.
I'll have to respectfully disagree regarding degrees of persecution in this case. Certainly there are degrees of persecution overall, as in you might be jailed or you might be killed. One is clearly worse than the other. But Tebow's case is far too slight for me to care, especially considering that Tebow benefits from his public expressions of his beliefs.
As for the endzone behavior, praying is probably preferable to showboating...
"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." Matthew 6:6.
That is to say that praying in such a highly public setting is another form of showboating, just a more acceptable one in that he's showboating for God instead of himself

Two things about the praying,
1) There is no closet at some of the times he wants to pray. Yes, he could wait, but I believe it is his faith to honor God.
2) You wouldn't know he was praying in many cases if the cameras weren't all over him at times of victory and failure just to see what he will do.
Now - Let's Go Cage Some Wolfies!!! Go Tigers!!

had 10 pts and 220ish yards on the night. Tebow has completed like 8 or 9 passes in TWO games.
He's had pretty decent success running the ball, but that just isn't going to last, and the defense is really the reason that they are winning games right now.
Tebow is going to fail and it has absolutely nothing to do with his faith and everything to do with the fact that he can't throw the football.
