Dear Clemson Administration
Dec 1, 2010, 4:48 PM
|
|
To whom it may concern,
I will not be calling, emailing, faxing, or otherwise begging the Meineke Car Care Bowl to invite my Clemson Tigers to their fine event.
Frankly, I find it extremely insulting that your solution to our lackluster performance is to have your constituents participate in such an exercise. I also find it embarrassing that we didn't manage to win a single game against a quality opponent this year, leaving us in the position of beggars to get into a mid-tier bowl game.
It is my opinion that we should fire our coaching staff, go out and hire a real staff, go to a lesser bowl, get our underclassmen experience in the new system, then come back next year and earn our way into a high quality bowl. Please do your job, and stop asking us to bail you out.
Sincerely, CharlestonTom

Good letter! I assume your Pre-Kindergarden teacher helped you put it together. Why don't you and your fellow malcontent fanatics get a life and realize college sports are just that --SPORTS!!

6-6 team into one minor bowl instead of another minor bowl is the one with no life. Right.
At least his pre-kindergarden teacher has a sense of proportion, which is more than I can say for yours.

Yeah, and a porterhouse steak is just food. If we aint worth a crap, we should quit playing football. The current program is a disgrace.

Fully agree. Clemson admin enlisting fans to directly solicit the Charlotte bowl indicates that the admin has big doubts that 1) the team will be invited to Charlotte to begin with, and of not invited, 2) fans will not turn out.
The admin is on the precipice of monumental embarrassment and they know it. Ergo, their desperation move.

I can only see one sure positive to going to a bowl...

...money. Maybe we can use it the money to upgrade something. A win would be a positive...not a big deal after going 6 - 6. But what if we lose? Just puts a big exclamation mark on a bad season.

I am going to email the bowl
Dec 1, 2010, 10:02 PM
|
|
And ask that they do what is best in their oppinion and take the most deserving team... but not to take a team just b/c they have people emailing them.
Clemson dropped their swimming program b/c it "wasn't competitive." I am waiting for the phase out plan for football after this season...

Get the fans to petition the bowl so they don't look so stupid for having an awful season...
...they say...well we went to this bowl...it was a good season....
...do they really believe we're buying what they're selling???
