DE Xavier Kelly redshirting?

I thought he was supposed to be able to come right in and play. Is he hurt, redshirting, or has he played and I didn't notice?

Haven't heard a recent update, but maybe they need to red-shirt him (Kelly) & Austin.


I know, Dabo said we need him...

Didn't Kelly get hurt on a scooter at the beginning of the season that could have set him back? Or was that someone else? Can't remember ...

Yeah that was him and he apparently injured his foot in the accident. Haven't heard anymore about him since.

they trust. Not sure Kelly will be here five years, but if he isn't going to play, why waste one. Unless we have two injuries in that first four over the remainder of the season, I can't see him avoiding a redshirt.

No negatives associated with a redshirt anymore anyway. Plus, recent examples like Dodd show that it really only takes one good season to secure a high draft choice, so the less wear and tear on the body, the better.

Or, in the case of Jadevilin Clowney, it only takes one good season no matter how many you played! :)
