next time you get to talk to the OC or O-Staff could you ask them what the offense identity is they are trying to shape?
I have watched every second of this offense including the spring game.. every minute of home game in the stadium... I read up on the Air Raid and I literally have no idea what it is they are trying to do...
Not trying to get the playbook or reveal secrets just want to have a better sense of where this is headed... and are we making progress in getting there...

Current identity is waste 3 downs, miss a FG or Move the ball inside the 20s then fumble

Wish things ran as smooth as an article read.
I keep trying to hope on this notion "we're watching Cade grow every week." He looks like he did in spring game.... OK talent was split and our "stars" were out. Whatever, it looks the same.
That acccg sparked what we wanted to see. He appeared on the up from there. From Tennessee on, I've not been impressed with much at all. Not just Cade either. Where are our 50/50 balls catching receiver? Where's the return man threat? Whatever, find the heater and keep dealing. All we can ask for right now.

forward prior to yesterday, then looked dysfunctional, out of sync at times as at Duke.
Cade, to me, missing a wide open Brown crossing early on was indicative of the misfiring. You have to hit the layups and that was a big one.
The terminology changed, even the designation change from 2, 5, 9 to X, Y, Z without flipping Field & Boundary is a significant change.
People say a lot looks the same as last, prior years and yeah, it should.
Base is 11 personnel. When Clemson goes to a 10 look, it's often still 11 when Briny just splits in the 4 wide look. Get Williams healthy and there might be some more true 4 WR looks? Clemson's run a good bit of 21 personnel in the past, finished the 2021 season running all over Wake & Scar in it, so the two back set isn't new either.
I like Riley a lot, I like how he sees the game and the importance of the run to the whole.

I'm no guru, but I'm still high on Cade and this offense. I think his "challenges" are coachable, and Riley is the person to do it.
We can still have a great season, but a more seasoned Cade with this offense in 2024 will be explosive and a lot more consistent.

I think he has improved considerably since Duke, wish I could be a fly on the wall for the film sessions... that is truly the only way to know... the rest is just judging results

So Dirt Raid is throwing a screen pass into the dirt? Followed by fumbling near a goal line? Chris

I have followed the "air raid" since it's inception. Whatever we are running is NOT an air raid. Looks like Brandon Streeter Offense to me.
Why can't we quit playing gimmick ball and just run a pro set? Seems to work for Kirby.

It appears to me we are dead set on being balanced. Half run Half pass even if it costs us possessions. Teams started playing us two high safeties and daring us to throw underneath because they know we do not have any game breakers at skill positions that can get much YAC when we take what they give us.

Wake ran 1 safety most of the game and we had 3 WRs split and covered by 3 DBs but threw the same screens. No attempt to beat them deep. Why?

so many negative articles over the years he is getting skipped over. Clemson just doesn’t want to deal with his negativity anymore. He never gets any scoops anymore. He just reports 2 day old news mostly.

The biggest difference on offense...

between this years team and the 2016 and 2018 teams, is that Clemson doesn't have any players on the current team who will be playing on Sundays.

Lets be real - there are not that many teams out there that have Sunday talent at QB, WR, and Oline. They just dont. And yet, they move the ball and score far better than Clemson does.

I think one thing had hindered ALL of the things that Riley, Dabo, heck, even Streeter want to do. We might have the worst O line in the ACC. We get the dudes, but then? I said in 2020 that Trevor was covering for a bad line with a quick release but it's only gotten worse. They're soft and can't bust a grape. For those asking why no deep shots? QBs have had no time. As to the Wake game, I remembered something midway through the game. Go back and look if you don't believe me; our game right beyond the bye is almost always the drizzling sheets.. Remember, Syracuse loss? Syracuse lose Trevor? I want to say Pitt in 16. And several others.. That's coaching.
