I think he was but Clemson got wind and had to dip into that NIL bag a little more. Unfortunately, this one isn’t over until it’s over. Auburn has a lot more at their disposal as far as NIL. Hopefully our conversation and NIL “promises” are enough to hold him for a month until he can sign on the dotted line.
Hopefully this is a good sign that Clemson realizes now they have to get more aggressive on NIL during the recruiting process and not hope these young kids believe the pitch that they will be fine when they get here. They will be, but young kids aren’t mature enough to wait especially with other influences in their ear and negative recruitment from the big boys.
