Daniel Rodriguez this year

I haven't seen much about him in the way of cracking the starting position, and I'm not suggesting he should. However, I was wondering everyone's opinion on what we could expect from him this year. I am thinking somewhere around 20 receptions for 150 yards. You guys?

If he is playing a lot on offense, we are in trouble. He is a great leader and deserves to be on special teams only.

He's like Rudy only not annoying. I think he could start at quite a few schools, but not Dabo's Clemson at WR.

He should be 100% on the playbook this year.

I'm saying 200+ yards on 30+ receptions and 65 yrds on punt/kickoff return.

...but I don't see him getting any meaningful catches this year. Unfortunately, he's got serious size and speed issues at this level. He needs to work on his special teams performance, because he's been a liability.

He might be a 5 star before it's all said and done. I think he should move to quick guard, personally.

I think he should focus on helping on special teams and not get his hopes up for any time on offense. Coaches want him on the field bc of his story, now it's his job to not get bullied and hurt the team while he's out there

I think he's an inspiration to the team and will probably received a scholarship next year then a grad assistant. His motivation to the team well outweighs what the cost will be for the Scholarship. This is his last year using the GI Bill. He either gets a Scholarship or leaves the team. He wouldn't be able to pay for college and play football after this year.

wouldn't mind seeing him field some punts, that's realistic. Possibly holder for the kicker? Not sure if he's working that.
Receptions? hmm... probably not many...bigger more physical DBs will make it hard for him. Some mop up duty may see him making a splash. But nothing major, IMO. #21

He could see up to 2Q in the SC State & GaState games

So he could have a big chance to catch and return. Making him more like Humphries in the lesser games.
He has supposedly boosted his speed, so that helps.

I have a feeling that if he works at it, Rodriquez could be

a possession receiver in the slot behind Adam Humphries. He has some moves and has good hands. Yes, he would take a pounding, but I don't think that bothers him. I'd like to see him in that backup slot position and he should be a contributor there.
If he can stay in his lane on kick-offs and not overrun the return, he'd be OK on special teams, but he has had a tendency to leave his lane and take bad inside angles that kick-returners can get around to the sideline. He has the right speed to play the head-hunter/gunner on kick-offs (which he played last year), but he needs to learn when to slow down to get the angle and then when to go at the target.
