Dabo will take the job

If offered. I personally think Dabo doesn't want to be the guy to follow Nick Saban. One because they are friends, and you never want to be the guy to follow The guy ... You want to be the guy to follow the guy that followed the guy.
That being said, I simply don't think he would turn down his dream job. I think we need to be realistic. If he is offered the job, he is gone! But I also think he will not be the first to be offered.
We need Dabo to stay. If he leaves, Clemson will go on. But it will not be easy.

Lol Yeah ok. He's an alumni. He always talks fondly of his old school. He is from Alabama and has family there. He grew up a Bama fan. His role model/Mentor is Gene Stallings. His friend is Nick Saban. He mentioned right after beating Alabama for the Natty that Alabama has a special place in his heart.
But ok. It's not his dream job. You got me!

No one “got” you, yet. When the Bama hire is announced, then and only then will you be “got.”

He'll be offered to be the guy in three years when the guy who follows the guy fails to live up to the original guy.

...that Bama was his dream job?
Have you ever heard him speak? It's clearly not ever been his dream to follow Nick Saban to Bama.
People like you are exactly what's wrong with the internet. Dumb people with dumb ideas get a platform to share their dumb opinions.
What a nonsense post.

Of all coaches I would NOT want to follow

Nick Saban. I doubt Dabo does either. I do think the idea of being the guy that follows the guy that coaches Bama after Saban is more likely IF they would ever offer the Dabs. I really do think Clemson is home for him now. His boys grew up here and are likely still in the area. Mama Swinney may not want to move away from the boys especially if there are grandchildren in the not so distant future.

Dabo would be stupid to take the Alabama job.

And I don’t think he’s stupid.
Sure, it’s his alma mater and he loves it. But he wouldn’t get much of a raise there, if any. And he would have a lot more pressure. If he thinks Clemson fans are unappreciative, he hasn’t seen anything. Alabama fans would be upset if he won less than 12 games a year.
Plus, he has it made at Clemson. It’s his program. He has whatever he wants and needs from the administration. He is adored by fans.

I feel the reason that Nick all of a sudden called it quits is bc of not enough NIL money to keep the Bama FB machine oiled and rolling like it was or as easy as it was, so why would Dabo want to roll up in there and take on what Nick Saban walked away from. So whoever please tell why you believe that Dabo is actually that stupid!!!

Bama is not Dabo’s “dream job” and Dabo is not Bama’s “dream coach.” Why are people so delusional??

Alabama actually has to want Dabo in the first place. He is not a good fit for them.

There is no room for a players coach at Alabama. It is a win at all cost program. They hand out pink slips and tell players their career is over if/when they find a player they like better in order to make room. If players refuse to move on they “encourage”them to move on anyway. Dabo stands behind his players at all cost. He cares more about the person than he does about winning games. He wants to build young men and teach them how to succeed. His philosophy doesn’t fit the current landscape of college football much less Alabama. He actually cares about the players he recruits and not the games they play. He wants “His” guys to succeed and doesn’t care what the outside world thinks. He’s a man who stands behind his word and his principles. I hope we keep him and we’re lucky to have him! He represents Clemson and its people well! He’s the definition of a Clemson man! Go Tigers!

Bama has fired Dabo once, and Clemson made him a first time HC not all that long after he was fired at Bama, so where do you think his loyalties should lie, with the school that gave him his dream, or the school that fired him and almost ended any chances to become a HC!!!

It's Bama. The guy that follows the guy that follows the guy will have no less pressure or expectations than the guy that followed the guy. Mike Shula's expectations were just as high as Ray Perkins. It's not like they said, "well, Ray didn't work out too well...maybe we should chill out a little bit".
Dabo ain't getting any younger. And IF he had dreams of coaching his alma mater, this might be his last chance. If they hire Lanning and he does well, he's young enough to be there for 25 years.

I agree. If offers I fully believe he’d be gone. I just don’t think Bama wants him. I think he’d be 4th choice for them.

challenge and Dabo isn't one to shy away from those. When he was ripping Tyler from Spartanburg he mentioned that he's never failed at anything in his life, so I do believe that there is a certain allure to the opportunity that coaching Bama would offer him in that regard.
