fans want to know about what's going wrong THIS season. Nobody is questioning or forgetting the success he's achieved in the past.
Him getting defensive isn't the answer. He just needs to discuss what his plans are to address and correct our team's problems this season. People need to be able to feel confident that he knows what needs to be done.

And hand out copies of the offensive and defensive playbooks while he’s at it.

Not tell us what’s wrong. ADMIT what’s wrong. We already can tell but all he does is deny and talk about the past.

Seems they need to handout the playbooks to the players -and practice the plays more.

It simple to say ‘ lack of toughness’, but hard to fix. Bear Bryant made sure his teams were tough.

So did Danny Ford. Unfortunately, Dabo cannot and should not talk about firing/not retaining assistant coaches during the season. And I'm pretty sure that will happen. Dabo must also make greater use of the portal (QB, RB, etc.) If neither happens, get ready for more seasons like this one.

It will probably be Riley. It will at least be a position coach or two.
At some point, maybe he will ask himself if he is part of the problem.

I wouldn’t call those scapegoats; I’d call that doing your job as the HC.

In the last press conference he claimed he was just now getting good at his job. Whatever that means.

To be fair if he gets rid of Riley, Grish or Spiller he’s fixing the problem, as long as he keeps up his recent run of experienced coaching hires

I guess we shouldn't expect Clemson to beat very good teams. If that is the case, get ready for a 5-7 season.

Lol they aren’t though.
LSU will have at least 3 losses. Their defense is very good but they’re struggling offensively and it hasn’t looked good.
They’re a 9-3 team at best.
Georgia Tech is a solid team. They will win 8/9 games but they will choke against somebody they should beat. Again… solid… not great.
If GT and LSU both end up 9-3 or worse then what will you say?
9-3 for LSU would be very good especially playing in the SEC but that’s certainly not “great”.
9-3 for GT I think at this point would be considered disappointing but that’s exactly what will happen when they drop a game to somebody like BC or Duke. I don’t know their schedule off my head I’m kissing they’ll lose a couple to teams just like that watch and see.
If 9-3 comes to pass for either or both… I certainly wouldn’t call that “great”.
Neither of them are true National Title contenders.

Says he ignores the criticism

and then goes on a very defensive rant.
But then again, what is he supposed to do?
No one likes to be criticized, and I doubt there are many people who can follow his advice of "don't take criticism from someone you wouldn't ask advice from"...at least I think that's the quote.
And isn't it human nature to defend yourself? Kind of a no win proposition; either acknowledge the criticism and offer a defense, or ignore it and be accused of having your head in the sand.
I realize that Dabo is a grown man, and a well compensated one at that, but what kind of response is going to satisfy the mob at this point? Obvious first step is put a better product on the field THIS WEEK. If we don't win (and probably cover) this week, the rumblings will likely get a lot louder.

He’s paid 11.5M/yr. in part, to show some restraint, especially in public and as a representative of the university.

People complain when he says too much.

People complain when he doesn’t say enough. People complain when he does things the same way as others. People complain when he does things his own way. People complain players are paid too much. People complain players aren’t paid enough. People complain we are in the ACC. People complain when we win the conference. People complain when we make the playoffs.
People complain.

I promise their isn’t nor will their ever be a time where Dabo Swinney is accused of “not saying enough”.
That has NEVER been a problem for Dabo but Dabo sure has created unnecessary drama like he just did again by not knowing when to shut up.
