and can provide a major help to their program. AKA Venables, SMU HC, Alabama HC etc. Therefore Dabo’s success depends on his hires of OC and DC. He hit a home run with Morris and Venables. So far, he has only got a single with Riley and Allen and others. He needs to get this part right since he is not a coordinator. If he gets this part right then we start a steady rise once again just like before until we can get the talent back we once had and just maybe we can become an elite program again.

Why do you say Morris was a homerun instead of Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott who were co-OC when we made the Playoff runs and won 2 National Championships?

If you only knew Chad Morris trained Elliott and he called Chad Morris playbook after Chad left for SMU. No doubt Scott and Elliott were great recruiters and brought in those top receivers. I’m sure Elliott and Scott added to the offense as time went on also. The original playbook in their hands brought by Chad from Tulsa to Clemson was their base offense.

And Chad brought his adapted version of Gus Malzahn's Offense. Gus wrote the book. Chad edited the book. Tony, Dabo and Jeff read and adopted the book - very effectively with DW4 and TL16 at the helm I would add.

They were reeling receivers in from all over the place back then. Gamechangers.... difference makers.....receivers that can take the top off.....those alpha dogs or alpha tigers in that position. Now its been a struggle to maintain that kind of success recruiting those type of guys because of the amount of money offered by other teams in addition to other things wrong within our program with development
