Dabo

It's amazing how much Dabo has learned about football and what a great coach he became in a matter of a few days. Wonder where our program would be right now if the keyboard athletic directors had gotten their way a few years ago and fired dabo. 40 wins in four seasons no, top five recruiting class coming in no, win over the ol ball sac no. Dabo has Clemson at the pinnacle of college football and the best is yet to come.

I'm just happy that it has worked-out pretty well for us.

I agree and it wouldn't have happened in cootlumbia. I think the man that Dabo is trumped his lack of experience. I for one am proud that our administration puts character above pedigree.

I forgot the fact that #4 prolly wouldn't be here either. I've had the good fortune to watch Steve Fuller wear that number into the Ring Of Honor and can't wait to see where Mr. Watson takes it.

I agree with you that dabo has the program on the RISE. great freshmen playing very well and one of the best recruiting classes ever coming in. but you need to pump the brakes on that pinnacle of college football. first, it was great to beat the coots, but that puts our current record against them at 1 out of the last 6. we have won the acc conference, which is at the bottom of the power 5 conferences, once in the last 20 plus years. we need to start winning some conferences championships to be considered at the pinnacle. we are at sudden crossroads with our program. first we lose our oc and now very badly need to hold on to our dc because he is much in demand. dabo needs to make a very good decision with hiring an oc to keep the program on the rise. most all true Clemson fans are very happy with all the wins over the last three years, but to get to a nc and the pinnacle of college football, we desperately need to win a CONFERENCE championship. we have the needed pieces as far as talent imo and now just need to step up and move forward.

I has confused

"which is at the bottom of the power 5 conferences..."
The ACC has the most out of conference wins against the power 5 conferences this year. Furthermore, FSU is undefeated (and the 2013 National Champion) with plans to be in the playoffs. Lastly, our Tigers did indeed go to a BCS bowl last year and defeated one of those top teams in the power 5.
I don't see us/acc near the "bottom" of anything...
I could be wrong so you'll have to convince me otherwise.

I'd agree with that, although the gap has narrowed

considerably between the SEC and the rest. Bama was clearly the only elite team this year in the SEC, and they have flaws just like everyone else

Power 5...
1. SEC (can I just say SEC West as the East is horrid...lol)- The only reason I have them here is year after year they have someone in the championship game. However, Bama is playing their best ball right now. Other than Bama holding this conference up they would fall below that of the PAC 12. 2. PAC 12 Oregon plays NOBODY in their division. They are 11-1 and should always reach the conference championship game. AZ and ASU are both good teams. But one has lost to a mediocre USC team and the other lost to Oregon State and was throttled at home by UCLA (who lost the the powerhouse of UTAH and Stanford at home). I still put the PAC 12 here as the entire body of work is okay but I don't think any of these teams could compete weekly against the top 2 SEC (west) schools.
3. ACC FSU is undefeated regardless of how close the wins have been. At the end of the day a win is a win. They are also defending National Champions and if they beat GT they go to the dance. Currently the ACC has 4 teams in the top 25. Florida State,Georgia Tech,Clemson, and Louisville. The ACC went 4 - 0 this past week against the SEC (even though it was against a paltry SEC west). GT basically throttled what was once thought a good Georgia team. And to be honest...there is not a team in the ACC playing better ball than the Rambling Chop Blockers.
4. big 12: Baylor, TCU, KSU. These are some really good teams who seem to always fold against any of the top 3 conferences in my list. Heck, Baylor lost to WVU!! KSU looks to have the best defense out of this bunch as the other two give up points. Regardless, no way do any of these teams beat a BAMA or a GT or even an FSU...maybe even my Tigers (with a healthy Watson). The caliber of teams they play in conference is not overly impressive. Lastly, I cannot and will not put this conference ahead because they have no conference championship game. Co-Champions....###!
5. Big 10 - Nobody has done a better coaching job this year than Urban Meyer. He should get coach of the year. But, each year they (big 10) have a few teams that are on a big stage and some how figure out a way to lay a big fat turd. Ohio State did lose AT HOME to VT (yes, it was the beginning of the year but in college football we don't get preseason games to warm up with). Wisconsin lost to LSU (who is not that good of a team but in the top conference) and NORTHWESTERN.
Anyway, that's my top and why...

The only fans uttering the phrase "1 out of 6" today are coots. Period.

Can't do anything about the conf. we're in

Thank God we're not in the SEC East though. They're pretty much booster wins for the SEC West to pad their win totals at this point. They went 0-4 against that conference that "is at the bottom of the power 5 conferences". Or maybe that means we'd be guaranteed a spot in the SEC Champ game! Can't help that we're in the same division as the Current Natl. Champs who haven't lost 26 straight.
Venables has already stated he's here for a while.
Seems like you talked more about beating the coots when we DID win the ACC, and now you want to flip the ######?
And since we're talking about the past, we're 7 out of the last 13, and 11 of the last 18!
Go Tigers
