Coot Game Was Blessing

Whatever the heck the coots did to expose our secondary is something other playoff teams had figured out, too. We should thank them because the technicalities we can fix. Let's see the improvement tonight.

Exactly! I agree 100%. All they did was show us different looks and personnel groupings. Most teams aren't so intent on beating their rivals they hold awesome formations back just to beat their rivals. But, coots need to turn the table and make a splash in recruiting. So, they did it and it worked on offense. But, football is offense, defense and ST. BV would have seen all the formations the rest of our opponents have run and will have a plan for it. You have to make it so BV can't know what the heck you are running or you are done. You have to catch him off guard. These teams we are playing will not have that napoleon complex to where they have to use trick or ninja formations. They are traditional schools who show up and win their way. Cuse and Pitt both did stuff to throw the defense off. Coots try to mirror that but their defense failed them. In this scenario; we will know who we will play in the 1st round. And have a good idea about the 2nd. And a month to get ready! We must beat Pitt tonight or all this talk is null and void! But, we have time to get ready for anything they can throw at us. And the personnel to do it with! Go Tigers!

Here - Here. Excellent comments. I was sharing same with coworkers. Never thought they could go the length of the field on us and they did it opening drive .For some reason I think our D presumed it would be a cakewalk after the past 2 years. After Pollard caught the pass and and lumbered in the end zone an hour later, I couldn't believe it. But....lessons learned and a good one.

Yep, I believe that game helped us tremendously, but another team from South Carolina also helped us. Citadel, showed us Bama's weaknesses. Thanks, Citadel.

So you think Bama won't correct a weakness? They just didn't have a lot of experience playing an option team but they corrected in the 2nd half. We have to beat Pitt and one more before we can play Bama.BTW, Bama may get beat before we can play them.

It might be tough to tell how our secondary has improved due to Pitt's O being awful. I am just glad we have a month to prepare after this game if we win,

What they did wasn't that complicated. They just ran a post route out of the slot whenever they needed it and got like 250+ yards doing it, and we never adjusted. If we had been able to take that away it's probably more of a 63-17 game.
