The comments at end of article are awful.
#1. Why are people blaming the victim? Guy was shot multiple times. How is he responsible? #2 Columbia is not that awesome of a place. Crime exists everywhere but it seems be around that campus. #3. He did not shoot anyone. He was shot.
His past does not justify saying or assuming he is responsible. Let's see what comes out of this.

Regardless of how messed up his life may be, he needs prayers. And perhaps redemption.

Well why did you repeat the word coot if you are so strongly against it in this particular situation?
I wished the guy the best of luck.
I don't follow your logic

How about we save the wise-cracks for when the kid is better. Right now it is in bad taste. This is still a kid, a human, in bad condition. Hope this young man gets better.

The scary part of this is that is not a bad part of town. I live in Cola and jokingly call it Gangland but where he was shot is so close to campus and the new baseball stadium.
I hope the young man will be OK and the police arrest whomever is responsible. I have lived in this town for over 25 years. I do not hold out hope that the perpetrator will be caught.
