Clowney Hit Question

It was close but was not reviewed. If a running back losses helmet, play is blown dead immediately. My question, when the hit occured and helmet came off, did Michigan running back still have the ball. If so, play should have been blow dead immediately and remained Michigan ball.

I do agree, they will be wearing flags very shortly. And the refs will disappear in favor of mm by mm slow motion film review of all plays. All plays and players to be named Defenseless players. Game times to be 7 hrs so advertisers get more exposure. We need the slow motion cameras to better determine if the running back was the actual culprit of the helmet to helmet contact or if the quarterback lowered his shoulder and head in the throwing motion. Just saying.

They reviewed it just for that reason.

They either confirmed that the helmet didn't come off before the ball was loose or couldn't tell.

tip my cap to Clowney, that was an awesome play. The nonchalant palming of the football on the recovery was almost as impressive as the hit. It gave it an inhuman, cyborg-type feel.

The RB never really had possession. He was hit as the ball was being handed off.
