Clemson's "real" defensive stats

6

Nov 3, 2023, 4:31 PM

In regulation, our defense has given up 16.1 points per game. That stat disregards OT points and opponent defensive scores.

Of that 16.1 average, if you remove the points that came immediately following an offensive turnover (giving the opposing team possession, momentum, field position), our defense is giving up 10.9 points per game.

There are a lot of things to fix. But turnovers are the single most important flaw of this team.

I would agree. The turnovers stop us from scoring and put extra pressure on the D. Especially pick sixes and scoop scores. The red zone ones are bad, but at least they don't necessarily lead to an immediate score by the opposition. But the Tigers have to cut this crap out if they want to be competitive. Tomorrow is a great time to start. GooooooTigers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Minus the pick that set up ND's first TD, our defense gave up...16 points.
