Clemson WBB

Ladies and Gents- It is time to move on from Amanda Butler. We have seen just how bad she is and why Florida fired her. It is time for our AD to drive to Greenwood, SC and visit the campus of Lander University and pluck away Lander WBB Coach Kevin Pederson. He is a proven winner and a true leader for his Women's basketball program at Lander. We need him leading Clemson WBB.

I agree. After her first year it has gone completely downhill.

When you start losing games by the margins we are that means the team has quit on you. Her teams got after it for the first couple of years.

Looks Like D-Rad could spend money but not very good at hiring coaches. Miami must have recognized that as they hired their coach before they hired D-Rad and have brought him in to try to build a new stadium in Coral Gables.

After we get our usual intimidation tonight and play with no confidence on the road again with our MBB then maybe we can get a twosome from the new AD.

Just to be plain out honest, they really need to do away with the program. The arena is basically empty when they play, and there has traditionally been zero interest in women’s basketball . Yes I know Jim had some good teams, but it went basically unnoticed.
It’s really just a tough sport to watch because of the distinct difference between Mens versus Womens ability to play the game.

Coots WBB

Has recently made more money than the coots men's bball. That's exactly what winning does for fan support and attendance. I haven't looked at this year's stats but the attendance was higher and total revenue. I am sure making the finals in the NCAA multiple years, paying less for coaching helped the WBB make more money EOY but I did see where Dawn got a big pay raise starting this year. I don't remember if she was #1 or #2 in contract but she is up there and deserves it.
Just like Dabo, when you have your program at the top you see the fan support. Just losing 3 games this year you can see the fairweather fans making stupid comments.

A lot of those fans hating on Dabo ...or Amanda , are dyed in the wool Clemson fans. Raised on it like I was. It's sort of the territory of sports to contain those who will support you if there is success and tie the blindfold on for the firing squad if you slip .
Sad.

The Davis years used to get good crowds. I remember going to pretty dull little John when we played Illinois in the 2nd round of the ncaa tournament when we were a #2 seed.
The program has been THE worst (I did the stats once, only us and Washington State were so bad) power 5 program in the last 15 years or so. That’s why fans don’t come

The CU administration doesn't give $#!7 about WBB...

and they made that abundantly clear when they fired Jim Davis and hired the likes of Christy McKinney, Itoro Coleman, Audra Smith and Amanda Butler to replace him. That's four coaches over a sixteen year period and not one of them should have EVER BEEN HIRED.
Instead of finding the absolute best coach available and paying whatever it takes to get them, they set a budget and then task a couple of Associate AD's with the job of finding a someone who will accept the job for the amount of money Clemson is willing to pay. In four years, they're doing it again. They keep doing the same friggin' thing over and over again hoping for different results.

If not the Lander coach hire a young agressive coach from a top program someone that recruits lights out men and women.Clemson can do better.

as the initial replacement for Jim Davis.
Holly Warlick was a Pat Summitt disciple from the University of Tennessee and would have been a excellent choice IMO but the two sides couldn't comes to terms. In other words, Clemson wasn't willing to pay what it was going to take to get her.
Sixteen years and four coaches later, here we are.

You seem to be missing the point.
They don't care about winning.
They care about having a woman coach and fielding a team for title ix.

Start recruiting California more for players.
Focus on those who are decent 2 stars recruits and are currently playing on the Boys team and maybe looking to transition from a “him” to a “her” or a “them or they”.
