Sell out to stop Sellers from running crazy on Clemson Defense. Make sellers beat us through the air I donāt think he can do it. Clemson wins 31-21

Got to be careful with the pass rush. Blow by him and he'll make you pay. I say double spy and contain

First with B.Venables plan and now today with aTm, when blitzing, always send one right up the gut. This forces Sellers to commit to one side or the other, at which time Sellers has been contained to having only one half of the field for scrambling.
Discipline by the DL as far as pass rush lanes is a must.
Finally, LBs and especially DBs need to go low (knee area) or ankles to stop him. Hit his thighs and bounce off like a bird in the windshield.
Last year, most teams failed to have their DL maintain rush lane discipline and didnāt send one (or two) blitzers right up the middle. aTm got their āstop Sellersā act together in 2nd half.
BTW, Sellersā instinct when a blitzer comes up the middle has become to back up. Itās as if he subconsciously knows that his escapability is curtailed if he is forced to immediately run to one side or the other. Kind of like a squirrel - unpredictability in open spaces makes it darn near impossible for a bunch of kids to catch a squirrel in open spaces. Get him to run into a corner that cannot be climbed, then the kids got a chance.
Oh yes, when Sellers backs up instead of picking a side for scrambling, he becomes a āgot sackedā machine. I thought I heard the announcers saying that Sellers leads the nation in number-of-times-sacked and in sack-yardage.

I agree , a lot of the keyboard football professionals on here think Clemson shouldnāt even play the game and already beat . It will be a battle but we can win .

We are really slow on defense, I would be surprised if we can contain him.

Spot on This Clemson team is the slowest I can remember in a long time. Itās so evident when the other team has mediocre speed. Who does our recruiting evaluation?

It would be inexcusable to lose the same way as last year. Iām sure weāll allow more than a few receivers to get open with this strategy, but you just have to hope heās off target or there are a few drops, like against FSU.
