It'll be close until the 4th quarter, when Murray will turn the ball over deep on the UGa side of the field, leading Clemson to a go ahead TD. We pick up one more TD when UGa can't get a first down late in the game and has to give the ball back to a Clemson offense they haven't stopped all game.

Assuming both teams have superior offenses and questions (or at least inexperience) on defense, expect a high scoring game, something like 38-35, that either team could win.
Of course, this is opening day, when some parts will be rusty and other parts simply goofed up. There is some potential for this game to be an ugly sight to behold, with each team getting 12+ penalties, fumbling, and throwing interceptions. If it does go this way, it could be a 20-16 type of game.
Unless you are wearing orange or red tinted glasses, there is nothing about this game that would lead anybody to truly think that one team is going to blow out the other. This will not be a 44-10 type of game, in either direction.

Well said. I don't see a blowout happening either way. Clemson lost a bunch of players but should still be able to move the ball well. Georgia lost some offensive guys but will still have a top 20 offense around Murray and the defense will be fine, just like last season, by the 3rd or 4th game. I will still take my Clemson boys but I am very excited for this one.

since the arrival of Morris and his offense.
The losses of UGA on defense are going to be masked by the equally significant losses by Clemson of proven playmakers on the offense side of the ball. For some unknown reason, most people are blindly whitewashing that Clemson will be playing its first game without Hopkins, Ford, and 4 year starting RB Ellington. This was made even more significant with the loss of Cooper to injury during the spring game.
So the results of the game are dependent on can the Clemson defense slow down the UGA offense...if UGA scores more than 24 then they are likely to win...how has Clemson defense faired vs balanced offenses recently...the numbers say not very well.....UGA can both run and throw the ball effectively which has spelled problems for recent Clemson defenses.

Regardless, of the level of the opponents defense, Clemson is averaging around 20 a game so can the defense slow down a balanced UGA offense.
By the way..does anyone need to point out the obvious...how did ya do against those coots?

I predict GA 42, CU 28.
If GAs young defense stops Clemson, it'll be game over. Clemson offense (and Tajh really) has struggled against good defenses. If GA can pull it together, I think it'll be an ugly day in death valley.
But, if Clemson can move on GA, and get one or two stops, it may be a sad day for the Dawgs and the SEC as a whole.
I'm almost more excited to watch your season-opener with UGA than I am to watch ours with Chapel Hill.

Clemson's offense is/was even better than Tennessee's. Good logic there. Justin Hunter won't be a first round pick either. Him and Nuk will probably be in the top 5-7 picks of the second round though.

I don't see this being pretty for the Dwags.
At THE Death Valley. At night. Inexperienced defense against one of the best offenses in the nation. An improved defense on our side.
It may not be of 63-17 proportions, but I don't think it'll be pretty. 42-24 Tigers. We pull away mid-way through the 3rd.

Both defenses are suspect. Both teams have recently flaked big time in games they should've won. Both teams have recently come up strong against great opponents. Both teams have great offenses, albeit with drastically different styles. Both will exact crushing revenge on Cootnation in 2013.
I'm going to go with my Tigers. My gut feeling is there's more on the line for us vis a vis national perception, our defense is slowly getting better, while Georgia's is a huge question mark, and it's at home.
