Clemson RB back at practice, more injury updates

Nov 1, 2021, 8:30 PM

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says there will likely be another new starting offensive line combo after Mason Trotter was hurt early in the game Saturday, as well as Will Putnam (ankle).

"I would say from that game, there's nobody that I'd say is definitely out," Swinney said on his call-in show. "But we've got a few that are questionable. As we sit here on Monday night at 8:17, we have some guys who are banged up and just questionable and we're working a lot of different options and coming up with all kinds of contingency plans.  But most likely we'll have a different starting offensive line, but that's kinda what we do every week. I'm kinda used to it at this point. But those kids are competing their butt off. Like I said, nobody that I can say is out. But we do have a couple of guys that are questionable that we say could literally be game-time decisions."

Sophomore RB Kobe Pace returned from COVID protocol and is working his way back to practicing fully this week.

"He's back today. He's going through his -- depending on how he looks, yesterday and today doing the protocol stuff - hopefully he'll be ready to go."

Oh boy. More injuries. Trotter doesn't hurt much because we got the better center in Rayburn right? But Putnam was getting er done.

Sounds like pace actually had covid if he's trying to get back... Or am I reading it wrong.

No, we do NOT have the better Center in Rayburn. Trotter can get movement on the Big DLinemen, but he can continue on to the 2nd Level. Rayburn also can get some movement, but rarely gets to the 2ndLevel. There is a reason Trotter won the Starting Center job before br
