Clemson OL vs FSU DL

Oct 11, 2022, 12:10 PM

Leary went out of the game mid-3rd Qtr and NC State turned 1 dimensional (QB only threw 1 time I believe) yet NC State was still able to run the ball.

This is the game that I would love to see our team pound the ball and force FSU to stop our run game. Watching Mafah run people over is a thing of beauty. I remember the RGIII comment when he was announcing one of our games: something like "That is one bad Mafah" - couldn't believe he said it, but loved it.

Yeah, we need to be in a position to go for it on 4th down. We need to win the time of possession in this game; as from looking at the NCSU vs. FSU game, the Crimi-noles are banged up a bit.

If we can force them to play a bunch of plays and score something; be it an FG or TD; I think we can wear them down.
They are very good; but not deep along the DL now with the injuries.

Running the ball and making them run - a lot! I think you will see more tempo in this game as well. All in the name of wearing down that DL.

LSU got in trouble and started kind of doing it late, and was moving it. We need to start from the beginning and keep the pressure on their endurance, stamina, strength, and conditioning.

Would love to see it but with only Shipley & Maffah available, I doubt we will emphasize the running game.

Two is more than enough.
Plus, we have Dominique Thomas a.k.a quadzilla.

We proved last season that when we want to run the ball ...

... we can.

When we focused on the run the last three games, we were extremely effective.

That much said, the main reason we became so run-oriented was because our passing game was abysmal.

This year, DJ is giving our receivers chances to win games through the air. It’s concerning that WRs are still not helping him out very much. That needs to change right away.

Hoping for a fast start Saturday night in Tallahassee with a balanced offense that is clicking on all cylinders.
