According for 24/7 sports.
FSU has signed 14 transfer players…5 of those transfers are 4 stars from Alabama. 3 are from UGA, LSU and Florida - all 4 stars. And of course DJ a former 5 star from Clemson.
Clemson also hasn’t signed a QB from the class of ‘24. We only signed 1 from class of ‘23 (Vizzina)
What the heII are we doing?

They can walk on and get an NIL deal to cover the cost of attendance. Every player on BYU's football team has an NIL-funded full ride, including the walk-ons.

and if that is what you're offering to more highly rated recruits, and the competition is offering a full scholarship and an NIL deal, you're going to lose that battle 100% of the time.

Every no-name walk-on on BYU's team has an NIL deal that pays their tuition, room & board. If the highly rated recruit wants a scholarship, ask one of your backups to give his up and have the NIL collective pay him the equivalent of a scholarship.

you can't compare BYU and any other school.
They have always done things substantially different.
They athletes we are going after aren't going to go somewhere that doesn't value them enough for a scholarship

Dabo is not against the portal. He is against breaking the rules of tampering which is where most of these schools are getting their portal players. By the time we see they are in the portal they have already been bought and paid for and committed to another team.

I think what he really said was that we not pursue another QB in HIS class, which is '25. We offered several in '24 and lost them all.

Why sign a 2024 QB when you have a returning Junior and Redshirt Freshman, as well as, a 2025 QB commit? For now, it's nice to get 2 top WRs, an extra OL and other needs rather than a QB.
Did you contribute your $2 million to buy a QB?

During the last drive of the Kentucky game, though, I think a lot of people (including myself) saw a flash of something that hadn't been seen all year.
I don't want to get poetic or existential but you know what I'm talking about - when a thing comes together it's almost palpable.
That drive was that moment. Or rather, I think that drive was a glimpse into what the team might be. Now, some of the players that made it happen are gone, sure.
But, if Swinney is a purist and would rather use the portal only sparingly, that game may have been the validation that this team doesn't need portal talent, it has the talent already under scholarship.
I reckon he'll find out either way come the evening of August 31 down in ATL.
