Didn’t Mercedes Stadium committee agree to this foolish request? Clemson should have demanded 20,000 tickets when this all began.
I expect that this act will fuel the Tigers even more to win this game big time. I’m anxious to hear Coach Swinneys thoughts on this matter. He certainly will use this attempt to keep Tiger fans away as a tool to get the good guys fired up.

It certainly doesn’t matter to Dabo or the team mentality - they’re gonna show up and road grade GT.
It *might* matter to potential recruits, etc. but it’s hard to say that with certainty.
It matters to paying fans because nobody wants to go to a game in the MB dome and have it be an attenuated experience.
It matters to the bigger story of CFB right now - this will be a prime time display of the exponential disparities developing between the superconferences and the ACC. BUT, maybe it’ll be the impetus for Clemson and other desirable ACC folk to shake things up and move forward into the future of the sport?

Hence, I agree: it's the optics. Bush league in my opinion for the stadium folks to agree with the GT request, and moreso for the ACC to not intervene. Frankly, I don't care if the conference had to buy 20,000 frigging tickets and give them to high school students. The sight of empty upper decks in a primetime game on national TV will make the entire conference look pisss-poor at best.
This type of unmitigated horsesh*t should have been resolved when the venue was negotiated with Clemson demanding a fully-opened stadium. Demanding? WE ARE PRESENTLY THE NUMBER 4 RANKED TEAM IN THE NATION...FOR GOD'S SAKE!
