Have you guys heard anything about Billy Barlow? He had an injury set him back last year , will he be a weekend starter this year? Go Tigers can't wait for baseball!!!

Yeah he was a midweek guy mostly last year

17 appearances/15 starts

2-4 record/4.84 ERA

I think he’s a perfect example of a player with potential if given full opportunity.

Nick Clayton kind of dominated that Sunday spot last year and Barlow couldn’t ever really get going as a dominant midweek pitcher. In the first half of season when the team was struggling.

But Barlow is a confident pitcher. A really strong arm already with room to grow. I can see him developing good if he’s trusted into a weekend role.

And if not, he could be a pitcher that is better at short relief appearances.

You never know. Spencer Strider was a surprise to be honest. Spencer appeared to be any ordinary decent pitcher out of Clemson. As Clemson usually has. But he just skyrocketed.

Thanks for your input.... I'm guessing Gordon will be the Friday starter. Hopefully we have some good freshmen coming in🤞

Yeah, I guess the question this year is does he stay in that midweek role, or does he move up to being a weekend starter? People seem to think he has a lot of potential, so if he could take that next step, that would be great. I certainly hope the best for him. But, I think it's important to remember, as Bakich said himself in an interview earlier this year (and as veteran college baseball fans know), your weekend rotation almost never ends up being what you expect it to be. It almost never stays the same as it is at the beginning of the season by the end of it. So everybody be patient with the pitchers, we won't really know anything for sure until several weeks into the season. But I'm looking forward to Clemson baseball as well, Go Tigers!

I remember in his preseason interview last year coach Bakich said Barlow was the most consistent pitcher in the fall hoping for the best this year
