Well, of course you know this, but the left hand family is celebrating the freedom to have the guns while the one on the right is celebrating that they can take away a persons freedom with their guns. That is a significant difference between the two.

you are passing judgement based on how both groups look. You perceive the group on the left as "just" simply b/c they fit your mindset of what is safe. You make these judgements without any facts about the 2.

Honestly, for me, there is a lot of differences. First, I know the photo was posted to "trigger" people and it did. My posts, I hope did not sound triggered... I was not. I was stating what I see, and there are big differences in the simplicity of what is posted.
1. It was stated (within the thread) that the group on the right looked like any other Islamic "person" that served with (alongside) US troops. That may be, but that was not what the picture showed...not any identifiable collaborator or undercover US troops with the group.
2.One can instinctively question that missing element but, also cautiously, move forward with the notion that they are not with US troops and do not support US troops. A "big leap" one might say? Not so, I say.
3. If that group were encountered by US troops they would not be received with open arms except they were already known as aids by the US troops. This group would be challenged otherwise...even fired upon by US troops if any ill intent is portrayed against them.
4. I don't know the group. The OP doesn't know the group - did not identify them as being known which, IMHO, leads to suspicion - especially with the missing element of US troops in the picture.
5. The picture on the left is taken within a home. Not on a open road or field. Around a Christmas tree. Could they be dangerous too? Certainly. Especially if I were to break into their house to "question" them on their motives for owning a gun. Wait, I would have to encounter them in their home??? Well, not me. I wouldn't break into their home to begin with. Some might though.
6. Photos of people with guns is not what [frames] the [judgments] on what they represent - it is more the setting and the inference intended by what is left out.

Meant to include but left this part out - the OP was not posting as though there was a real question about what the pictures represent. I believe the OP intended to trigger responses by inferring that those around the Christmas tree, because they have guns, are just like those in the picture on the right - murderers, killers, and intent on destroying anything that does not align with their own belief system.

the pic on the left... If I barge into their home, they'll shoot me. In this scenario, because I'm white, I will have about a 10% chance of talking my way out of getting killed, but I'll be held there until the police come and arrest me.
the pic on the right... If they see me in their country, they'll kidnap me at gunpoint and send you a video of my beheading. I'll be ok in portions of their country, but if any of the ones in that picture or their friends see me, I'm as good as dead because I'm the white devil.
Of course, I'm right in both cases and I hope I gave the answer you're looking for.

Then have the OP show them standing with American soldiers. That would solve all of your misconceptions with the OP picture. Unless, of course, they are standing over the American soldier - tied, drugged, and on his knees - and they have a large knife ready to cut their head off. In that case, well, even you should be able to discern what is being presented.

I’m a strong advocate for the 2nd amendment and I believe we should never let them take that right away from us no matter the cost. But I would T have my family take the picture. I know they’re just making a statement that they support the 2nd and I applaud them but the picture is a little much.
