Agree. It is likely a product of the returning production; Few position battles other than the RB room. They'll go 100% in practice when they are competing for a starting position.

He has about as much experience playing RB at the college level as the guys brought in to play RB. Yet he’s beaten them out?
What does that say about the recruiting at the RB position?
Or is this seniority?

CK is not under pressure of being injured during practice. His team mates are not allowed to hit him hard like the opposing team will in a game. CK does not want to end his NFL hopes with an injury that puts him out of football or makes an nfl team doubt his physical status to play the game.
That's my thinking and I could be 100% wrong. But how can you look great in practice and running scared during the game.

You just might have hit the nail on the head. It might not be just Klubnick. We might have several starters who are more interested in protecting their futures than laying it on the line for the Tigers. This is just a theory, but something worth considering.

If you’ve never had to perform in front of thousands of people, you’ll never know why it can be so easy in practice and so hard come show time. There are some people who are built the opposite, too. I played with a kid who looked like crap in practice but come game time he was killer, still has some school records for the G5 school he played for.

We have certainly changed almost the entire staff that successfully ran practices for 2 national championships, so stands to reason that yes the practices have also changed. Judging by what we’ve seen on the field the last 4 years that change has not been for the better

You are correct!! I have been to practices and most every play is done at 3/4 speed at best with no pressure or aggressiveness. Danny Ford must be swallowing his tobacco when he watches this. That is why Dabo teams always come out of the gate slowly every year. They don't see full speed and hard tackling except on Saturdays in-season.

Yea, you are correct grasshopper! In past years, the offense would practice against an elite defense and the defense would practice against an elite offense. Not sure if we are still "elite" on both sides of the ball. If you don't practice against elite players, there is no "iron sharpening iron."

When you see videos of August practices either on TV to T-NET they looks much less intense than ones of UGA and even USC. Lots of standing around and moving three quarter speed. I remember the comments of DB who transfer to UGA about practice being much more intense, and Mukuba making some similar comment about reaching potential.

Cade was lost vs LSU, and that had nothing to do with coaching.

Dabo has complete control of the pace and physicality of practice

He is not practicing any differently. How many practices from Alabama on do you think Dabo has been a part of? So he suddenly doesn’t know how to run a practice or see flaws?
But since you want to call out the entire staff. I guess that’s “they”, then go ahead and explain in your own words what each of them is doing wrong, in your opinion. Let’s discuss.
Otherwise your comments read like a 12 year old. Just trying to help you out guy.

There are no ways to coach that out of someone. Riley isn’t a psychologist and can only coach so much. We have a team psychologist and he talks to Cade all the time. But neither Riley nor the team psychologist can go out there and hold Cades hand during an actual game.
What else could we have done?
This isn’t a coaching issue.

You know, the most successful era in Clemson football, BY FAR.
Riley can do some and the team psychologist can do some.
Our issue has been ONE thing up to this point in the season?
Coaches and team psychologists can go stand beside Cade when he’s the game. He’s was put winning situations all LSU game but could never get himself together.
What do you suggest the coaches and team psychologist do?

I would suspect some of that has to do with the perception of the quality of the coaching they’d receive. Some of it has to do with portal/NIL philosophy. But we can’t pretend that there haven’t been a bunch of misevaluations.

Green hasn’t impressed me in his snaps, so I don’t know why he’s listed above Adams, but Adam’s hasn’t looked better than Capehart. Parker, Woods, Capehart, Heldt are the best 4 right now.
If Dabo is so set starting seniority over talent how did Hampton pass upperclassmen on the depth chart like Lukus, who is playing pretty well in his own right?
