Has not been for a few years now. I do not get excited about recruiting anymore. Just have to wait till the portal window closes and see what you end up with. Even then they may pull the RS card on you and sit out.
Managing a college football roster these days has to be nauseating.

This has little to do with NIL, and more to do with Swinney still not having a clue as to how he plans to distribute the revenue once the House settlement is official. According to Jason Priester, the other schools already have plans in place as to who gets what, and are letting the recruits know, since it's the '25 class that will be the first to benefit from it. I love Swinney, but for something he's been apparently in favor of, his roll out of what he wants to do is less than stellar.

I believe he has more of a clue in his right nut than you do on how to run a football team. There are things going on behind the scenes that the average Joe will never know anything about. This has a lot more to do with collectives than what was NIL or revenue sharing.
Just had a 4 star flip to us. No need to get too excited. Recruits and recruiting is not what it once was. Get used to it would be my only suggestion.

Calm down there turbo, I'm not calling Swinney out. You might want to go back and re-read what I said before you blow a gasket, because I certainly am not. I was just repeating what Priester, who is reporting that he's hearing from the recruits, and not just today, but from back before Campbell decommitted. Dabo may very well know exactly how he wants to allocate that money, but he's not sharing it, while other schools are, and that's leading recruits to go elsewhere. In regard to NIL, we have a Director of NIL, and with results like this, she may not be the person for the job.

Again, not calling out Swinney, I relayed what a Clemson Recruiting Reporter said about the situation. Now, if you want to say that Priester called him out, feel free. I think he's doing a great job. He's got the current roster management under control, as good as anyone in the country, just needs to get the recruiting NIL dialed in.

Perhaps we should view this as a positive. The kid presents as a hired gun, a mentality that has imploded multiple programs across the country. We have fielded a better product with proven results. Dabo's recruiting philosophy weeds out the weak - the kids that are looking for a buck, rather than the opportunity to become the best version of themselves don't belong at Clemson. We need kids that will buy in to the program, rather than being bought themselves, and allow the killer staff that we have to coach them as hard as it takes to unleash their full potential.
Have to see the bigger picture of earned draft stock and long term added value. That said, hard to beat a 'Winn-Dixie grocery bag full of money' - a dream most of these kids have been bombarded with since they were born.

We have to get used to the idea that teams are going to come after our best commits. We need to be prepared to do the same.
And no, I'm not suggesting we buy players or get in a bidding war. I'm just saying sell what we have to offer and at least keep them honest.

I was happy to hear we got a 4 star OL to flip to us from UCF and an hour or so later hear this. Ugh! The landscape of CFB is changing. Schools are forking out millions before kids even step foot on campus. Without NIL limitations, this is the new norm.
