Mr Swinney have the amazing success in Death Valley IF 35,000 showed up for the home games? It would completely change the entire enthusiasm of Tiger Football. And you ALL know it!

I forgot to add that he would never have to worry about it because he will build excitement around the program and the results would show and the growth would show. Brad has killed that. The fans don't believe in him.

Forest I think enthusiasm is generated by the product on the floor. Crowds and students are great but I feel they feel it is what it is with the program right now. Just no enthusiasm as a whole for the men or the women. Let them go on a 5 game win streak in the conference and tickets would begin to be hard to come by and you would see some big turnouts.

Hatfield would be a more apt and appropriate comparison here. The success was not amazing, fans stopped filling up Death Valley, and he was thankfully jettisoned for a new direction.

While a student at Clemson I actually enjoyed being in the arena at the basketball games more than being in the stadium at the football games. The energy of the crowd inside the building and the close proximity to the court was more exciting to me than being at a football game even at Death Valley. Since then the stadium has been expanded and the competitive level of the Clemson football team has dramatically improved. The competitive level of the basketball team has probably declined. If we put a competitive product on the court at Little John, people would turn out for the games. Many of you can remember 2007 when students put up tents to wait in line to get tickets. We are fans of Clemson not just the football team. If we put an exciting competitive product on the basketball court our fans will attend. https://clemsontigers.com/over-2000-student-tickets-distributed-for-clemson-vs-north-carolina-game/Over 2000 Student Tickets Distributed for Clemson vs. North Carolina Game Jan. 16, 2007 Clemson, SC - The Clemson student-ticket allotment of over 2,000 tickets for Wednesday night's Clemson vs. North Carolina game was exhausted at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Students lined up overnight in 145 tents and other means of protection in anticipation of the student-ticket distribution on Tuesday morning. According to Clemson Ticket Manager Travis Furbee, everyone who waited in line got a ticket. As of 8:30 PM on Monday night, 145 tents had been erected, four more than the number of tents occupied by students who lined up for tickets for the Clemson vs. Wake Forest game in January of 1997. That game 10 years ago featured a number-two ranked Clemson team (AP) against a number-two ranked Wake Forest team (USA Today) that featured Tim Duncan. Wednesday night's game at Littlejohn Coliseum will feature a Tar Heel team ranked fourth in the nation in both polls against a Clemson team that was ranked 16th in USA Today and 19th by Associated Press in polls released on Monday afternoon. Clemson has started the season 17-1, tied for its best 18-game start in history. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM and the game will be shown nationally on ESPN. Furbee also said that less than 400 tickets are left for this Saturday's game with Boston College.

The team that the Tigers put on the court in my student days was far,far from being a good team. Wins were hard to come by but in the dozens and dozens of games that I personally saw (from the front row) in my student days there was never a lack of excitement. I realize that today isn’t the Sixties but the dedication of Clemson should always be paramount in the minds of real Clemson men . The kids of today’s lack that. And that hurts! Firing a coach was never ever mentioned when I was a young Tiger and it should not be today. Those decisions are left to those who actually know the real score. There are many on this “bored” who need to grow up. I realize that many who post here have never attended the first class at Clemson and even less have actually supported THE UNIVERSITY.

False equivalence much? That would be 40% attendance. Even this season Brad is averaging close to 70% attendance - pre-covid restrictions he’s over 80%. Averaging 90%+ attendance didn’t help West or Bowden so I’m not sure your point holds any water.

Illogical comparison...The team was already selling out before Dabo...The only way the numbers would be less than half of the capacity is if he was not winning...you know, like Brownell. Which would mean that Dabo would not be the coach long before that attendance number was reached! But if what you were trying to argue is that the reason the fans do not show up for Clemson Basketball games, then it is a correct comparison...
