Can anyone explain to me

Jul 31, 2020, 7:37 AM

How playing a 10 game conference only team schedule
with 1 extra game is any safer from the "Rona" than playing
the original schedule we had all along.

Teams from different states are coming in, and we are going to different
states. Why the cancellation of OOC games. Are those teams any more
dangerous than the conference opponents that we picking up as far as virus
spreading.

It seems we are still going to be under the same risk doing either.

Common sense has left the building in my opinion

I'm with you. It is entirely implausible to say the players and coaches are at less risk by playing only Conference games. But then, common sense "left the building" years ago in the good old "USA." Go Tigers!

Think lawyers and liability.... Not virus.

Only way it makes any sense to me.

The only plausible explanation....

is maybe the leagues think they have more control over the safety and sanitation protocols that will be imposed.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

How many games are guaranteed for the league

Jul 31, 2020, 9:02 AM

in terms of revenue from tv contracts and potentially any ticket sales and concessions if every team has a 10 game conference schedule?

How many games are guaranteed for the league in terms of revenue from tv contracts and potentially any ticket sales and concessions if every team has an 8 game conference schedule and no guaranteed opponents for any of the remaining 4 games on each team's schedule?

How much more revenue is guaranteed by bringing Notre Dame on for a full slate and including their TV contract in the conference split?

Seems to be more about maintaining control of the schedule and maximizing revenue than minimizing risk which would be relatively similar under either situation.
