Caleb Williams Enrolls at USC

I told you from the moment he entered the portal it was a done deal. The only reason he said Oklahoma was still in it was to diffuse some of the hatred and criticism. This is also why he waited and pretended this was a long, thoughtful process.
There was NO thought to it. He gave OU a test run by staying and playing in the bowl game. Once that made it clear he didn't want to stay, USC was the only school he considered.
All in all, I don't fault him much in this process. He gave OU a legitimate chance by practicing and participating in the bowl game. His head was in it. The only thing that bugs me is putting up the facade that he could return to OU or choose another school besides USC. But a high-profile player like him needs to manage his image carefully.
USC has a good chance to join UGA and Alabama in the top 3 of nearly every recruiting class for many years to come. There is so much close-in talent out there. If Riley can use his extensive connections to continue pulling 5-stars out of Texas, he will probably win a national championship sooner than later.

That's good. Maybe So Cal can be in the playoff the year after this one. That would be good for college football.

My take...

Lincoln Riley left OU,
Brent Venables left CU for OU,
We lost four recruits...I could care less if he/usc falls off the left coast.
I hope they win nothing!

I think UGA or Alabama will be there every year for the next maybe 7 years or whatever.

They will probably start winning it every year for a decade starting at worst the year after next.

What am I missing with Lincoln Riley? What has he won? I just fail to understand the love affair with Oklahoma led by Riley???

If that's your logic: What has anyone won...

besides the SEC and Clemson in the last 15 years?
OU has won 6/7 Big 12 championships and been in the CFP 4 times. He's had two consecutive Heisman Trophy winners who were #1 picks in the NFL draft.
If you can't understand why people think Riley will succeed at USC, there is no hope for you.
The SEC has won 12 out the last 16 football championships. Nothing the other conferences have done is worth a dime, right?
Real quick, name 5 CFB obviously better than Riley.
Personally, I wish him well because it's a new flavor to the mix. I'm tired of the non-stop Alabama, LSU and UGA talk in college football. I'm sick of the recycled gruel.

Recruiting and QB development. Front row seat at the NFL draft for the young men.

if the current NIL rules and regulations do not change, Alabama and UGA will no longer win recruiting championships.

He was already signed, sealed and delivered to USC (with no evidence, of course) before he ever hit the Portal Potty.

Riley wasn't pulling many 5 stars out of Texas. OU doesn't recruit as well in Texas as they did in the old paying days of Barry Switzer. Guys like Caleb Williams and Spencer Rattler were from elsewhere.
