CADE’S INTERCEPTION
Nov 6, 2022, 9:24 AM
|

I feel like a ton of people here are missing this.
Yes it was a bad ball BUT
I put some blame on Ngata being a “nonphysical, low effort upperclassmen WR” than i do on the “give 110% every opportunity” freshman QB

Was the play call to have Cade rolling out to his left?

Morning swimmer. You are killing me with your comment. Need to find some humor in that fiasco. I about to go see Wilkins and the Dolphins play the Bears. Need to forget the massacre from last night.

It's funny how our WRs magically suck when Cade is QB......

*************NEWS FLASH************ The WRs and PLAYCALLING have been the main issues for the LAST 2 YEARS!!!!!!!!.......NOT QB!!!!!!!!
can't stand seeing the DOUBLE STANDARD -When DJ's in it's DJ's fault -When Cade's in it's WR's fault

You think the WRs and playcalling made DJ have the worst stats in college football last year? Not every DJ throw is his fault. Some are on others, but more were because of him.

Re: CADE’S INTERCEPTION ... he ain't ready yet

Cade simply isn't ready yet.
The obvious play was to throw the ball away.
Cade is still thinking as if this is high school talent defenses that he's playing against. His poor passing decisions were in evidence against Syracuse (with the one exception being the 2 point conversion pass to (I think it was B.Collins).
He hasn't made that mental adjustment yet.
Simply put, he's not ready for prime time.
Maybe next year, but it ain't happening this year.

He hasn't had any passing experience this year because of the terrible coaching staff. It does take a mental adjustment, but they're not giving him the opportunity to make it, putting him in down 21 on our own 7 and telling him to work magic. He would be a fool to stay at Clemson for us to see "next year."

it really wasn't even that bad of a ball. more of a bad decision because the guy was covered and he threw across his body, however he was put in a HORRIBLE spot to go be savior once again. if he squares his body up, he maybe gets that ball in there

Should have put Cade in much earlier and let him have a few reps to get loose and comfortable. To put him in when when we are almost in the end zone and expect him to pull out a miracle was a bit of a stretch. Taking him out immediately after the interception was a huge mistake. I don't think this is the way to build a QB's confidence and skills.

Maybe a way to see him transfer. But I hope not. Oregon is looking.

Oregon would take him in a heartbeat, but there are competitive schools looking for QBs that recruited Cade. Stroud, Young, and Bennett are all entering the draft this year. LSU will need someone too. Wonder what Cade would do with good coaches, protection, and receivers who have some speed.

Like others have mentioned.. it seems a strange call if we really meant for Cade to throw his first pass while rolling out to his left. Even if no one is around him and WR is open, that is an awkward throw. He should have thrown it at Ngata's feet or something but he was almost in safety territory if he had gone down so I dont blame him much for making a freshmen mistake.

I don't call it a Freshmen mistake as much as some. Because theres also the variable of him trying to make the most out of every snap when thrown into the " be the savior " position. I could see a senior doing that, when put in that postion.
I see what people mean by "freshmen mistake" , but its different if all those other variables i laid out aren't there
if its the first/ second quarter, and he's been starting all game and makes a play like that. Sure, freshmen mistake all day
But you literally threw this man into the fire. Not saying the throw wasn't ill advised, but in that spot most baller QB's are going to try to make a play. Seniors, Brett Farve...doesn't matter
