We have enough talent to win out in the regular

season if we can motivate this team to play as hard as GT did last Saturday. Cade can’t keep falling over his own feet and Woods and Parker need to wake up and get out of cruise control.

Woods, Parker and the other NFL prospects will be on cruise control the rest of the season. No need to risk an injury for the Mayo bowl.

We have at least one player on offense who has already played his way out of the NFL day-1 draft. If that player doesn’t prove that some of his deficiencies got fixed before the end of the year, then he’ll probably end up as a Day-3 draft pick.
We have one player on defense that has already played his way out of ~3rd / 4th round NFL draft and is heading towards UDFA territory.
As for Woods and Parker, they are doing OK against some very good opposing team O-linemen. Woods, in particular, continues doing unglamorous work of eating up opposing O-linemen. I no longer expect him to be picked in the upper half of the NFL 1st round, though. Parker looks to fall out of the NFL 1st round. Last year, he fattened up his sack numbers on backup Pitt OTs (got 4 of his overall 11 sacks vs Pitt). I still think Parker is playing very well. Whichever NFL gets him in the 2nd round will be very happy.

I have never seen a Clemson football team play such uninspired football ever. We came out with a vengeance in the second half against Troy, but other than that, it seems they have a business-like approach to the games. It's almost like football is no longer a fun game for these guys. It's a business from which they are guaranteed a salary regardless of performance. Just sad.

Which kind of begs the question that if they aren't motivated, and we have a coach who is known as a super motivator, does that mean our coach isn't very motivated either?

They've been non-factors through three games.
Am unsure why they'd be seen as first rounders. Heldt has more of a motor than both of them appear to have, combined. He also has more TFLs then they do, combined.

I didn’t think those existed, based on what I read here.

ELITE teams after transferring in and were constantly fed a stream of BS about how the portal only has back-ups and busts

Good thing, we might have lost to Troy without him.

Just imagine how much better we could be if he had gotten more portal players to improve our talent and experience.

The football team won the ACC without Heldt last year, and yet may not win the ACC with him this year, and thus cast a shadow of doubt over your "more portal players=improved talent and experience" theory.
Another possible source of doubt: the upcoming basketball season.
Let's touch base after.

Based on what we've shown so far I think our talent level and depth is vastly overrated. To me DL and RB situations are prime examples of that.

We haven't had enough talent for that the last 5 years

at some point people/fans need to take an honest look at our talent and realize it's not all that great anymore.
The talent is what you see on the field...................and it's been "good"......not "great" and FAAAAR from "ELITE" the last FIVE SEASONS.
good thing we play an ACC Schedule b/c we're a 6-6 team stuck in an 8-4/9-3 league

Players received bonuses for wins and great play on game day.
In today's NIL world players are paid in advance for showing up.

I think we have the talent but we don't seem to have the coaching staff that can draw it out of them.

Woods and Parker and the gang don't give a rip. They've already got one foot out the door and they're keeping themselves safe for the NFL.
