I saw somewhere that Neon said he was going to upgrade the talent level. Some saw that as a sign I guess.

Only if he has recruits that can step in immediately.

Probably needed to be done, but next year might be as rough or worse.

As it always has been, it’s all about prime. Many of the guys who are leaving where told that they weren’t as good as the guys he’s gonna bring in from the portal, but some of em were good players that woulda played this year. Especially this week; their best receiver entered the portal and coach prime’s son, who is their QB, was pretty upset about it.

Their best receiver has been Travis Hunter since he transferred there.

It's gotta be pretty bad to have that many give up schollys just to get outta there for the hope of playing someplace else.
Deion will be able to get bodies in because there are enough players in the portal that would play almost anywhere if they could get back on scholarship.
How many good HS players with other options that will want to join that circus however, remains to be seen.

Pffft those kids don’t give a rats patute about their scholarships. They just want to make highlight reels and chase NFL/NIL money.
They don’t respect anyone but themselves. Coach Prime is changing that programs culture and like it or not in two or three years win or lose the kids who buy in will come out better men for it.

Will fail...and Colorado may set itself back further, if that's possible, in the process. Dance with the Devil, you get burned.
Culture? That's not a culture he's breeding out there.

They could have stayed at CU and kept their scholarships guaranteed. But they chose to forfeit them in hopes for the transfer portal to try and chase NFL pipe dreams.
There’s ZERO guarantee they will get another scholarship for a lifelong degree and they gambled it away.
So yeah I’m pretty sure Susan

If you read their interviews the position coaches told them they were being “cut” so no they couldn’t have stayed on campus with their scholarships bc their scholarships were being yanked . So no it was all of their choices to leave . Read up some instead of being a prime time fan boy

for the most part (with some limited exceptions) P5 FB scholarships are 4yr guaranteed and cannot be pulled for FB performance reasons. There is a clause that if the HC changes the university can "cut" the player from the team but has to honor the scholarship. That player cannot play/practice however. If he does then he counts against the scholarship limit.
These kids by "cut" they mean, cut from the team. As in can't play football anymore.

they were cut....the school still had to honor their scholarships. Guaranteed full ride for most. But they chose to leave. In doing so they chose to gamble their fully paid for college education.
research up some....

You are being very disingenuous if you think that 51+ players that are hopping into the portal are all chasing the NFL
Many, probably the vast majority , of these kids really just want to play football for the last couple years that they have remaining. They were at CU, doing their best, obeying the rules, working for "next year" or the year after that hoping for a chance to contribute and play in front of a stadium full of people. Now they are getting told that they aren't wanted and know that no matter how hard that they work they will never get coached up, never really have a fair shot at winning a starting job...all while listening to their millionaire self-promoting coach talk about dedication and hard work and whatever other motivational BS comes out of his mouth.

…but his approach and actions should embarrass the university. Even if it works in the W-L, it’s a d*ck move. His apologists keep saying “but he told them”. Doesn’t make it classy.
