Bryan Bresee

Oct 25, 2022, 8:42 AM

Do any of you think he will return next year?

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

Having missed a few games and not exactly setting the world on fire this year, I don't think his draft stock will allow him to come out this year. If he takes his conditioning more seriously in the off-season and adds muscle and conditions himself, he could be really something next year. I say he waits.

Thanks for a serious reply.
Too many kids on here just make a snarky or frivolous comment (apparently to up their number of posts). Wish most of them would grow up a bit!

He is being projected as a top 10 pick. Early first day draft. He will not be back.

I love Brian and hope he succeeds in everything he does.

However, I’m amazed they have him as a top 10 pick. He definitely has the body to be successful in the NFL but his actual, on field results have been average. He had 1 whole tackle on Saturday…

He had a good 2020, so I guess that’s what people are looking at. If he’s a top 10 then KJ should be a top 5, IMO.

All that to say, yeah, I agree he won’t be back.

Hard to get tackles when you are constantly doubled and held by 2 guys.

Same for Furman (2 tackles) and Wake (2 tackles)? Total of 9 (5 solo, 4 assists) for the season, which for him is 4 games.

The pundits have him on top 10 for the draft, so I guess he’s done enough. I wish him success.

I wonder if he’s fully recovered from his kidney infection yet? Seemed to me he had less snaps than usual on Saturday.

What information do you have that Bryan is not taking conditioning and adding muscle seriously in the off-season. If you have been paying attention, he has been dealing with a health issues that is not easily overcome without lingering effects.

I’d think he will return next year. Missed some time this year. Obviously been through a lot with Ella so football hasnt been his full focus this season. I’d say he gets in better shape this off-season and starts fresh next year will an All In drive knowing it’s his year to make his draft case and be a leader for our defense.

Hope so, but depends on his draft stock.

I don't know where he stands in the eyes of NFL coaches

and draft guys, but it seems to me that much of his reputation as an NFL prospect is based on his high school recruiting accolades more than his performance at Clemson.

My perception of him is that he has had some good games, but has yet to put together consistent high-level performances. Obviously the ones who evaluate talent for a living might feel differently, and if so, their opinion holds a lot more weight than mine.

Too soon to tell - a lot of factors will go into that

decision when the time comes and it hasn't come yet. He technically has 3 years left after this one due to RS last year and Covid in 2020. I would expect him to be gone this year or next but you never know what could happen if he had another injury. He has fallen in a lot of the mock drafts I've seen. Some have him anywhere from high teens to very bottom of the first. Obviously not the year he has wanted but I think most will realize that is due to off-field family priorities. That said, he missed most of last year so they will be dependent on FR year for most of his tape.

I want him back on our line and healthy physically and mentally next year. The money will be there for him either way.

I think this has been a lost year again for him for obvious reasons. And none of it is his fault. He’s a stronger man than I am to go out and perform to the level he does after all the bad things that have happened to him and his family. Having said that, I think he comes back because he looks like he hasn’t quite recovered fully to me from his knee injury. And maybe it has dropped his stock a tad? I think he comes back next year in prime condition and plays his way into an early 1st rough pick where he belongs.

If he returns it's because he wants to be here, not because he won't get drafted in the first round, because he will be.

Re: Bryan Bresee

Oct 25, 2022, 11:51 AM

Three reasons to come back:
1) Improve Draft Stock- He will get a first round grade more than likely
2) Unfinished Business- If he wants to win a CFB title and we don't win one this year.
3) Loves the College Experience- He might love being in school and being at Clemson.

The Power Ranger Crew was a combo of the three- Wilkins had points two and three. Cle and Austin helped themselves draft wise.

I expect him to turn pro, but stranger things have happened.

Yes, I believe that he will want to put together a complete and phenominal season without any missed games and run away with national defensive player of the year. Do any of you realize just how much a major personal sibling loss and followed with a kidney infection can take out of a person of his makeup?

If he goes, wish him well. The one I want to return is Ruke. He didn’t have the high school career or accolades Bresee had, but has had a better college career with 5-7 games remaining and is in the groove right now.

I think if he decides to return it could be due to where he is in the grieving process. Clemson is his support system when away from family. If he gets drafted in the 1st as many draft experts project, then he’s starting his career with high immediate expectations in a pro sport that’s all about results. Personally, I think he needs more college experience to improve his game. That could be achieved with Coach Eason. He’s still young and with all the missed time he’s not as battered as many after what would be 4 yrs of college. It will be a tough decision, and a risk to return but could be worth it in the long run for a successful NFL career.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NFL scouts will watch the tape this year...

Oct 25, 2022, 5:16 PM

and cut him some slack for grieving and recovering from his kidney infection.

These final 4-5 games will determine his draft stock. If he is a projected top 10 pick, he would be crazy to return. $20 million is too much to turn down.
