I know a lot here speak against the ACC BUT so far I love the way this guy speaks up for the conference unlike any of the other coaches. He does so clearly, intelligently, and is unambiguous. He chooses the right moments and forum. ACC Media Says and now against the “rigged” ESPN Power Index rankings. Clearly SMU has his back. It’s refreshing! So far, I’m a fan.

Yes, it is refreshing! I wish more ACC coaches would speak out, including Dabo?

How much more outspoken can Dabo be? He is pretty darn vocal about his beliefs regarding faith, family, and football.

Dabo speaks up for the league all the time as well as Lashlee. Go look at his clips over the years.

I am not a league fan; I am a Clemson fan. There are way too many SEC and Big10 fans who act like another title by TOSU and Michigan or Bama and Georgia mean something good about the other 30 teams in those leagues who never win squat.
Since 1980 there are only two programs who have won more Nattys than Clemson. Bama and Miami are those two teams. Over Dabo's tenure Clemson has a winning record versus the Big 10 and the SEC.
Since 1980 only 6 major programs have won more games than Clemson and yet the media and way too many average tv fans refuse to call Clemson a blue blood program. What happens on the field and in the games should count more than seems to register with lots of people.
Go Tigers !!

When I started using this rhetoric 7-8 years ago, I was blasted for being narrow-minded.
I am Clemson-only and don't give a care about the ACC. The ACC is just a vehicle for our team to make the CFP. Nothing more, nothing less. If we are the only good team in the conference, that is fine with me. SEC pundits and fans who whine about our "weak" conference can go jump in the lake. All I've got to say is we won two national championships beating the mighty Nick Saban and Alabama.
In 2025, it's now clear Clemson is destined to leave for the B1G or SEC. Will you care about the ACC after that happens?

You mean the guy who on ESPN called the CFB Playoffs the SEC/B10 invitational?
You mean that guy?

Agreed. I thought he was a good OC at Miami and Auburn just caught up in some messy situations.

Well it's better for SMU than being in the Group of 6 in the American Conference. Of course they are happy to be in the ACC.

He is one of the best coaches in the business and his play calling and adjustments in the ACC title game was rating our lunch.

Rhett has not been in the ACC long enough to have the same opinions as the old guard. The veterans have been around long enough to know how the ACC administration and administrators suck big eggs by slighting the schools at the top (outside NC) and doing everything in their power to help the schools on the bottom (especially those in NC). Lashlee will learn.

I get that all the time too. Not sure where Mr. Lashlee is from, but I was born in Charleston where Rhett is a relatively common name. Yes, Rhett Butler was supposedly from there too. But I was named after a family friend who was like a second father to my Dad. And he was born well before Mrs. Mitchell’s book hit the shelves.
I do like Rhett Lashlee. I think he is a very good coach and it seems like he has a very level head. That’s a good combination.
